Looks like Miller will miss out on the Player of the Year award that he deserves 10 times more than anyone else in Green.

well said again
Miller has been far and away our best most consistant performer all season
its baffling that he wasnt in our full strength team to start the year. Well picked Matty.

Yeah, Miller has been the Best Raider all season. He is always there or there abouts.

Elliot's hand is being severely forced.

By my reckoning he's barely got 20 players to choose from.

Lomu should not play again, according to his injury. I thought Tyran has an 'indefinite' one as well. He should not see first grade again anyway, might as well keep a kid in firsts.

Should we just cop the fine and get a rookie or two in for the last macabre stages of the year? Surely Ben Jones and Willie Raston should get a run. Zillman too, why not.

Smithy - have a rest son, you've carried us this far and the finals are gone now.

Elliott was saying on 666 that its pretty much iompossible to just play another player and cop a fine as the NRL would know that they wuld be breaching the cap and could have the power to stop the player from lining up.

What happens if they have to pick a second tier player to make up 17 players?

It really shouldn't matter when you consider that Lomu and Williams ate up a fair bit of that cap. And, if they do make the finals, they are still going to be without the majority of their front line players.

not sure mate.

I remember Elliott also said something about how they went to the NRL and asked if they could use some more players given the shocking circumstances, they were turned down.

I guess we just to hope we never come accross that bridge, however if we do I see a possibility we will have to play with 16 men :(

I've always felt Miller ws a hard nut just his style of play is too cannonball like and will cause his longevity will be cut short, his biggest problem as of right now is that he's always walking out of big collisions second best and can't fault his toughness, but he needs to pick his big hits better.

Don't think lomu will be fit to play this week, wasn't he out for like 5 weeks last time with the same injury, probably won't see him till nxt week, but apparently they want and need for him to play 2 more PL games to make finals, williams needs 2 and Hodgo needs 1, so it'll be interesting to see if matty fields his strongest team for the next 3 games or does he allow these 3 to play in PL games to make the finals, aparently they all want to play in those finals and furnsy needs them too.

Yeah but you have to remember the players in that second tier cap Are kahler ale williams lomu and milne so really kahler and lomu would be on $100,000 each pretty much williams ale and milne will then make up the rest of the 330,000. so theres not much of a cap to work with for the club considering you've got 3 FG players in williams, lomu and kahler needing to play a far bit in that cap. i think it should be scraped you can't fit a lot of them inside that gap and then we have situations like what we're in now where we need players through injury and we can't get them, can hardly field a team for that matter. theres no way the clubs gonna get into trouble fron nrl, it just won't happen, we'll have to make do with the ones we have now.its very hard for any club really cos you don't plan for injuries and thats been the main reason why we have these ones in this cap cos we only used them for injuries really.
