I was thinking about this last night.. He came off the bench for BRET last week and set up a try when he finally came on the field. So i guess he at least had a half decent game. This week he is starting in the centres. Hopefully he gets a chance to have a run at half. If he has a blinder Shines might pick him for FG next week off the bench and play 2 min.. Lets hope Lui lives up to how he's played in every FG game and has a shocker and gives Shines no choice but to give Arana a go at halfback...

ok can i ask this question now?

Quite possible Teflon has form but Taumata has been out injured. We should be able make a firmer opinion in a week or two. Taumata is only contracted till end of 2010 season so unless he fits into Teflon's plan he will wither on the vine like others in the past.

I read in RLW today that Sheens is looking at him as an outside back.

This is the exact snippet...

Tigers fans are crying out for former Bulldogs and Storm bad boy Arana Taumata to get a start at the club and his chance will come - but not where many expect. The 21 year old made his name in a brief but spectecular career at five-eighth for the Bulldogs but Tim Sheens has other plans for the enigmatic Kiwi once he finds full fitness. " Arana is big and strong and has the makings of a good outside back " Sheens says. He has played most of his football in the last few years in the halves but he could prove a very good centre and we may try him there.

I notice his named in the NSW Cup team in the 4.

hmmm just like moltzen will make a great fullback aye tim! Just f**king use him in his right position u wanker .
Then again if it means getting rid of Fitz it cant be a bad thing. But most likely he will get a go for one week only in the centres, then Ayshford will return.

Why is he trying to make him into a centre? We have Ayshford and Lwarence. Is he planning to cut one of them?

Even odder considering he's a tried and tested half, something we're clearly missing, yet he's going to take the one decent half in the club and turn him into a centre.

It tells me that Lui will be our long term halfback. Ryans form at fullback has all but killed off Moltzens career at the club.

I reckon Sheens was resigned for a year just so that the Tigers could lock in Benji for another 4 or so years wasn't it?

Notice how those both happened at a very similar time.

Some good points MU, i was also thinking about the centres and if he is planing on releasing someone? If they were id say it would be Lawrence, and if it is neither then why does he have to open his big mouth and say sh*t that will obviously unsettle players.. unless he is atempting to make players want to look elsewhere and if l they eave he can use the exuse they wanted to go. Just like in Gallants case .

Its just weird, why try manufacture an outside back out of a player who is already qualified to play in our weakest area of halfback. I dont even know why im bothering to bring this up, its just the same dumb experiments we have seen time and time again, trying to reason why Shines does it is pointless even thinking about as it will never change until he is gone. : (

Yep, Teflon Tim and the great tem / individual player morale clangers he makes with these comments is just incredible. I'd agree it is a deliberate tactic to let the player/s affected (in this case Lawrence / Ayshford) know there will be competition for their positions AND, it reconfirms his opinion /. mindset / brainwave / obsesison that halfback is not important and Lui will be his main man there.

Results???? Probably Moltzen goes elsewhere and either Lawrence / Ayshford / Taumata go too.

So has Taumata left already or is he staying til seasons end?

I'm awaiting the announcement from either WT / Cowboys websites but the rumour threads have Taumata being released for the rest of this season effective immediately and signed by Cowboys for 2010-11.

Announcement said to be happening today.
