This.

It's just another f**k up in grading/charge by the MRC. The hit was worthy of a charge, (Mini would get off suspension with his clean record anyway) it's just they gave the wrong one. It should have been a careless high tackle.

Bullshit it should have...

He did not attempt a tackle... He jumped raised his forearm and connected a player in the head.

Only this f**king sport would Wade Graham, Te'o and Inglis get suspended for hitting with a shoulder in the head accidentally and Mini gets up for attempt to elbow a guy in the head twice.

Anyone with half a brain could tell the contact was not intentional.

 Not sure how accidental that one was from the grubby turncoat frequent flyer

It was just a shoulder charged gone wrong hutty, accidental contact. I wouldnt blame him for wanting to take Dean Youngs head off though.

Guys I managed to find an exclusive transcript from the judiciary hearing:

Michael Buettner: What about that tattoo on your chest? Doesn't it say Die Dugan Die?
Anthony Minichiello: No, that's German [unveils tattoo] for 'The Dugan The'.
Don McKinnon: No one who speaks German could be an evil man.
Mal Cochrane: Case dismissed!

How scandalous!

So given he jumped and raised his forearm/elbow twice, what gives you the idea the contact wasn't intentional?

There was no need to jump, and there was no need to raise his forearm and elbow... And there was no need to try twice.

He was justifiably sent off, and he should have been sitting on the sideline for a minimum 3 weeks for that effort.

I would have preferred he targeted Matt Prior. Constantly dazed looking muthaf*cker.

I think people are missing the point here. The judiciary weren't favouring mini when letting him off, they were attempting the hurt the roosters by making him available to play.

Frankly I'd be checking to make sure none of the judiciary panel haven't unloaded heavily on the Tigers this weekend

He was charged for striking, not carelessness. Judiciary can only base it on that and as you said for it to be striking, they had to prove it was intentional which they couldn't. He was charged wrongly to begin with and that helped him escape the charge

This where common sense goes missing as has been the case for most of the year. If the charge was wrong to begin with, both parties should've been given 24/48 hours to resubmit their arguments for the proper charge.

One got 3 weeks - one got zero weeks. Says it all.

The derp judiciary put the wrong charge on the bloke that’s why he got off. It is true that he is innocent of striking, it was never striking, it was always a careless or reckless high tackle.

Lol @ Souffs fans comparing it to the absolute thuggery of Gregory Inglis. He should have been suspended for 90 games IMO.

Leading with the forearm/elbow is not tackling.

Crazy,

GI stood his ground and delivered a cracker of a shot. The shoulder connected with the head and he got three weeks.

Mini jumps twice at Dugan, connects with the head on the second attempt with a forearm and gets nothing??

I am not biased, as I also believed GI was hard done. If they plan to outlaw this type of shit then why is it not consistent?

From here there will be common law for them to argue, based on the hit made by Mini.

The funny aspect is them arguing that it was not intentional, please...he has two attempts. His second attempt does not resemble a tackle whatsoever.

Charged incorrectly? that cannot be right, surely...why wouldnt they just say, "Okay it was not intentional, but it was careless..we will downgrade this to a grade 1 careless high tackle", so instead they say, "whoops we stuffed up..your off the hook!"

 There was no doubt Mini would get off, he had no intent. Unlike GI who had the evil look in his eye as soon as Young made that break.

Umm GI pleaded GUILTY you geniused souffs fcks

If he pleaded not guilty and fought it instead of pleading GUILTY and trying to get a downgrade then maybe he would have got off too

Shows what a farce the judiciary is, why can't they change a charge ?

A bloke on the street gets into a barfight and kills someone with a punch. The police charge him with murder.
It goes to court where its argued the charge of murder is not the appropriate charge. The bloke doesn't walk out a free man, rather the charge gets changed to manslaughter.

I realise that the NRL judiciary does not work on common law principles, but surely they could conduct hearings with common sense.
