Dykes signed for Parra because Cronulla were too slow to talk to him. I know that they were over confident about him staying and treated his request for negotiations with absolutely no urgency - Parra offered him good money so he left. Although he can be absolutely brilliant I always thought he made a lot of selfish decisions with the ball.
Another good example of Cronulla's negotiation ability was when they told Brett Howland and Colin Best that they could not afford to keep both of them so sort it out yourselves as to who stays. Truly professional management!
