From the Sydney Yawning Herald
Cronulla chief executive Steve Rogers last night confirmed the club was investigating the possibility of his son Mat returning from rugby union next season.
Mat Rogers, 28, will be off contract with the Australian Rugby Union later this year and has expressed an interest in again playing for Cronulla.
Steve Rogers said he had spoken informally to the 2000 World Cup winger about the issue.
"I had lunch with his manager on Monday and it came up, although nothing official is happening yet," said Rogers.
"If he wants to come back to Cronulla, we would try our best to accommodate him."
Since switching codes in 2002, Mat Rogers has become a mainstay of the Wallabies side and was one of the stars of the World Cup but will miss the rest of this season with an ankle injury.
