More action from the EPL

Well, t'was indeed a sad weekend for English football with Liverpool failing to manufacture a goal in their clash with Sunderland. They were fab in general play the Reds, as good as anyone has been this season, but the bloody ball just couldn't get past the keeper, bugger it! 21 shots to nil, a quillion corners to nil, but just one point to show for it, 'tis indeed a cruel sport at times. Not to worry, it was encouraging to see Liverpool cast aside the shackles of their normally defence-fixated game to attack en masse... If they maintain this style of football they'll surely be winning a hell of a lot more than they lose for the remainder of the competition.

Arsenal are, worringly, back in fine fettle and disposed of a battling ten man Tottenham outfit with a minimum of effort. I must say that the red card for Davies was little short of a disgrace and it was a relief to hear that the FA has rescinded it. There's no doubting that the Gunners are the most attractive side to watch in the comp and it is difficult to see them being headed from here.

Oh well, at least the much loathed Manny U couldn't manufacture a win this time around either. As it turns out a point is more than they deserved against West Ham, but the Red Devils have always had more than their fair share of good fortune. Could there possibly be two more irritating players in the game than Van Nistleroy and Solksjaer??? Surely not, but at least it is highly unlikely that they'll be appreciating any silverware this season.

I spoke last week about the current 'Blue' upsurge that is occurring in the EPL and sure enough it continued on unabated with Everton and Chelsea continuing on their merry ways. Neither side is a genuine premiership threat, but both should have their eyes on the prize that is a Champions League spot, particularly with the much loathed Manny U beginning to look quite vulnerable.

The less said about Leeds the better, methinks.

Shocking week for the Anfield faithful, lets set things right this weekend...

turn it up kev, chelsea are'nt to be dismissed that easily,we are winning games this season which we would have dropped in past seasons, arsenal obviously have a chink in there armour, most likely overconfidence.
everton are travelling along beautifully,it's good to see them back up among the gun sides once again, they've been fighting to avoid relegation the past 4-5 years,it will be huge the local derby against the reds when they next clash.

Thanks for the wrap, Old Son! Roma are an interesting side and seem to be gradually improving after a dismal start to the season, but I still prefer AC Milan (of the Italian sides) for the Champions League at this stage. I also think Juventus could do some damage, although I am a bit biased toward them, given that I follow them in Serie A. Juventus aside, I'd also like to see Ajax do well from here on in. Valencia will most likely be bloody hard to beat though, if they can maintain their form.

Yeah Chelsea are travelling well at the moment, but their financial woes make it almost certain that they will need to shed players from their list when the transfer window opens. This will unsettle the outfit and rob it of crucial depth over a long season. I don't mind seeing them do well though, particularly as I like Claudio Ranieri who has great humility and graciousness (whichare all too infrequent commodities among top line managers). I agree with you wholeheartedly about the derby with Everton... The buggers always come up for this fixture and are hard enough to beat (for Liverpool) at anytime!

I think I'm hip to the hep of your hop on this one...

If you say something enough times it just may eventuate...

The GUNNERS are finished in the EPL
The GUNNERS are finished in the EPL
The GUNNERS are finished in the EPL
The GUNNERS are finished in the EPL
The GUNNERS are finished in the EPL
The GUNNERS are finished in the EPL

Its a nice daydream, but they used to say this about Hawthorn continually in the (then) VFL during the 1980s and they just kept making Grand Finals...

They're home the Gunners

The Austrlasian PL will take a long time to get off the ground, if at all.

And the Kingz??? I wouldn't exactly say a force to be reckoned with. They're doing alright, but definitely aren't title contenders. A Kingz player spat on the captain of the opposing team on the weekend. Bloody dirty bastard.
