Stop it League Fraud, you'll give me a headache trying to see the relevance of that!

I'm going to wait until just before the start o the season before I throw any money down btu I think Penrith might get the spoon next year. The only problem is that they looked like they didn't care for chunks of 2005. If they start looking hungry I may even put some money on them making the eight after a few weeks. There is no way Gower should be representing Australia at the moment though.

Souths are Souths! They will be crap next season.

Melbourne will struggle with direction without Orford although depending on who they have playing at halfback, they may be better in close games.

The Knights will improve obviously.

The Warriors are rebuilding. The short term pain they will go through had to happen.

Penrith is a weird one. I think how good they go depends entirely on their off season and wether they hit the first round of 2003 in good shape. Yes they have no centers at this stage.....but deadset in 2005 when you best center is Paul Franze...that link having no centers anyway!

I think the Raiders will see of Matthew Elliot next season.

The Sharks should go pretty well, but I think Raper will be replaced if a good coach becomes avalible.

The Knights will only improve if Johns plays, otherwise they will go backwards again.Souths will finish in front of the Knights if we remain injury free.

The warriors are losing they key play maker in Stacey Jones, Kiwi winger Frances Meli and part time skipper Mony Beathem. With their limited recruitment i think that the veterans Price and Wiki will be wondering why they travelled across the ditch.

Meli and Betham were liabilities, losing them almost makes up for the loss of Jones. We're hardly short of replacements for those two, w've got a lot of depth at hooker and lock and Vatuvei is a way better winger than Meli's been since '03.

Yeah, We also said that about the Bulldogs at the end of 2004.

With the comment I made, I am assuming that Wests will not have a horror run with injuries. No one thought the Bulldogs would finish so low, but no one knew that the Bulldogs would be hit so heavily. I am not going to assume that players will get injured. On paper, the Tigers will be in the mix.

If you throw in the loss of Micheal Sullivan and Keith Galloway the sharks have lost a lot and havent gained much in Darren Albert.

Those two had such stellar seasons. Galloway, in particular, struck fear into his opposition with his selfless charging and go-forward.

I don't like the Bulldogs that much without Braith Anasta. Sherwin is not a top 8 half on his own by a long shot. Their lack of quality in the halves will kill them.

If you knew anything at all you'd know that Sherwin plays better when Anasta is not there. Anasta is a ball hog, and when he isn't playing and Sherwin takes centre stage, he is a much better player for it. The reason for his poor form this season was because he had no go-forward, we had a reserve grade pack. If we keep out first grade pack on the park and Sherwin stays injury free, you can guarantee that he will find his form. Everyone said what a great combination they were, they were a sh*t combination, just 2 good individual players, but they didn't combine well at all.

What's the bet Galloway proves his worth at the Tigers...?

We can't go backwards and i guarantee you, if both the Knights and Souths remain injury free the Knights will finish at least 10 points ahead of souths.

3 team that will struggle
the bulldogs(may have the best foward pack in the comp But need decent halve sherwin is far to inconsistant
storm(lost kearns, offord and bell ad will struggle in the halves
Knights (after johns gets injured) rely to much on johns i predictring he will get ANOTHER serious injury and will retire
Oh so now Sharks fans have the ability to see into the future do they? But I bet u still cant see something called a trophy anywhere on the horizon can you

I see the Knights being top four material, the Tigers will have another good year, the Dragons will be there or thereabouts and the Roosters may just sneak into the 8, but im not convinced. I think the spoon will return back to its rightful owners in Souths.

 I was getting to that point about Souths finishing ahead of the Knights. Jesus, look at both teams full strength sides and I think the Knights finishing 10 points ahead of Souths is being a little bit on the generous side!

Penrith - Almost spoonsville. Gower is grossly overrated. Great forwards who aren't firing - they lack the little Robbie Farah type alert workaholic. Need a decent pivot, and a decent centre. Rooney and Lewis, sadly, won't get the chance to represent. I really rate Rooney, but he needs to have decent players inside him.

umm...Luke Priddis....Preston Campbell.....

I wouldn't take any other hooker in the competition atm than Luke Priddis. He's a ridiculously smart footballer.

But you and every other Parra supporter can give your money to the TAB for us to get the spoon next year...have fun.

Don't worry Mick i'm not writing off the Panthers. If your end of season form carries over to next year they'll make the 8. But either way they are nowhere near spoon material.

Warriors and Souths will battle it out for the spoon.

1. Dragons
2. Tigers
3. Roosters
4. Parramatta
5. Newcastle
6. Broncos
7. Bulldogs
8. Manly
9. Cowboys
10. Panthers
11. Sharks
12. Melbourne
13. Canberra
14. Souths
15. Warriors

So Sherwin can use the "no go forward excuse" and Anasta cannot?

they were actually a good combination, don't let anasta's signing to the Rooters blind you of that fact.

agreed.

People forget we won five on the trot in the last 5 rounds, finished 1 win outside the 8, oh and also f**king hammered the Tigers at their home ground in the final round.

I agree that IF we carry that form over we may make the 8.

I think next year we will just miss out...like this year, but I think we'll be at least competitive and be pushing for a spot and well outside spoon contention. The only problem I see in our game is the centres.

Lewis will field one centre spot, while we got about 6-7 guys going for the other one, so hopefully a good player comes out of that.

Souths will improve, I have no doubts about that. For the first time in about 10 years there is a belief within the club, added depth, and a great bunch of juniors, guys like Gordon and Champion, who are in the junior kangaroo's squad. Plus there is Sutton, who deadset dominated almost everyone he came up against this year, and made Anasta look like a little fairy girl in their two encounters :p
It also helps we now have a coach who can actually coach and who the players all seem to respect.

1. Polglase
2. A.MacDougall/L.MacDougall (whoever is fit/not suspended!)
3. Elford
4. Gordon
5. Hegarty
6. Sutton
7. B.Walker
8. Cusack
9. S.Walker
10. Geddes
11. Galuvao
12. Stuart
13. Rogers

14. Webb
15. Manuokafoa
16. Fa'alogo
17. Champion

Plus guys for depth like Nathan Merritt, Paul Mellor, Mark Minichiello, Jaiman Lowe, Shane Rigon, Joe Williams, Mick Moran, Michael Greenfield, Balin Cupples, etc.

Also watch for a couple of young guys in Aaron Firman and Ricky Young!

The Tigers have given me hope that anything is possible!

I'm not forgetting Cambell, although his form this year was forgettable.

Nor Priddis. great as he is, he can't do it on his own.

New Zealand - may improve dramatically as the old make way for the new. Nathan Fein's year to come of age. Same for Lance Hohia and young Leuluai. Could go as high as top 4, but too many variables to pick that.

Playing in his second season with the London broncos next year.
