EDDIE JONES IN SHOCK LINK TO THE SHARKS
Eddie Jones, the two-time Rugby World Cup runner-up coach, has emerged as a shock option for the Sharks in 2021.
Jones has
reportedly been identified as a bolter for the top job
if the Sharks look to move on from young head coach John Morris and don’t bring back Shane Flanagan if the NRL relaxes his coaching ban.
The Daily Telegraph reported the link between Jones, who coached the Wallabies to a loss in the 2003 World Cup final before returning to the 2019 decider with England, and the Sharks.
But a report from the UK claims
“no conversations” have taken place between the Jones camp and English rugby, where he remains under contract until 2023, the next Rugby World Cup year.
“The
Independent understands that
no approach has been made to either Jones or the Rugby Football Union and no private conversations have taken place,” reported
Independent rugby writer Jack de Menezes.
