Morrison out

Morrison has dropped out of the Cowboys team for this weekend.

I really hope they can put up a decent effort in the forwards to get us into finals form.

The last thing we need this weekend is a soft game.

Morrison out is a big blow for the Cowboys, he is like Kennedy to them
he lifts all the players around him in that team.

I think that they key to Sundays game is stopping Rauhihi, the Cowgirls showed last
weekend that when you stop Rauhihi going forward the Cowgirls fall apart.

As soon as he left the field against the Tigers the Tigers began to gain
the ascendancy and all of a sudden they were the ones going forward.

The comment on Rauhihi is a good one, I have a high opinion of Rauhihi, but when we played them last time the Knights really targeted him and he had a shocker, and as you said they fell apart. I hope the boys remember that from the last outing and repeat the dose. Unlike some I think winning this game is important if only to keep up the winning momentum, a loss to the Cowboys isn't going to inspire us much for the much tougher game we'll have next week. As they say winning becomes a habit.

I couldn't agree more Antonius, all these people saying it would be good if we lose or we should throw the game  are kidding. We need to win and more importantly play well. Normally media people talking the Knights up during the finals is bad for them but in our current situation I think it would give the guys more confidence and that is gold.

Kennedy is out of the Knights side, so that evens it up.

Oddly enough they both have the same, very uncommon, injury. They have both torn the muscle in the arch of their foot.

That's a big plus to the knights having morrison out. It is crucial that we win this weekend. I can't see us winning next weekend coming off a loss. Hopefully if the cowboys play below par and the knights find it easier out there, it should increase there chances of forming some new combinations, which will help us for the finals.

The loss of Kennedy is a huge blow, saying that he didn't look likely to play earlier in the week when he was getting around on crutches, I hope he's able to play next week. I don't know which way they'll go now, I suppose Abes to lock and one of the young forwards into the second row. They could experiment with Ennis to 5/8th and Rudder in the second row. bit radical I know but it is a thought.

Would Craig Hall not fill-in in the lock position?

From what I remember I think he played in the second row during one of the games.

Personally I think the risk of bringing an untried Ennis into the team to partner Kidley while Rudder drops back into the lock position or even moving Abes to Lock would be too great.

Abraham plays better in the second row rather than lock and Kidley and Rudder need more time to develop their combination before the finals - besides why change a winning combination?

Alternatively how about Andrew Price or Luke Quigley filling in at lock until BK gets back, at least they have first-grade experience.

With Morrison being out I hope the Knights aren't taking this match too easily. A loss to the Cowboys at this end of the season would be embarrasing and you can pretty much guarantee that the Cowboys will be looking to end their season on a winning note. How good would they feel if they could score a victory at EAS?

I can't say I've seen a lot of ennis go around. But hey, it's an option.

I'd say they'll put abraham at lock and bring price or even woolnough into the back row. I hope woolnough is left on the bench though.
