My memory is fading of late.

Some of the 01 games when we were so dominant was thrilling. Of course the 09 run home was great too.

Judas returns to Parra Stadium was special.

Storm's first appearance at the Stadium after 09 and the cap cheating exposure.

09 Semi vs Dogs at ANZ before 70,000 was pretty awsome.

For me it was a game in 1990 when Sterlo took on the Broncos single handed. We may have lost but I have never seen a greater individual performance. He was magic that day!!!

Great games & memories in this thread.

I'll add an obscure one. Must've been 1990 or 1991, Raiders at their peak and us in the cellar. Matt Goodwin took on the Raiders pack and got bashed. He never stopped. I think we lost 30-29 or something like that. Deserved a win on Goodwin's effort alone.

My wife is a Para supporter.
The ones I always remember are :
* 1998 semi loss to Bulldogs
* 2001 Grand Final
* 2005 semi loss to Cowboys

Such kicks in the guts all of them...sigh...even for me.

My fave game is Newtown vs Para 1981 Grand Final, the maiden premiership. Just a tops game with so many great players and the beginning of a dynasty for Para. My father-in-law is a Newtown supporter and when we got him the DVD, said it had an 'alternative ending' where Newtown won. LOL. Cracking match still.

As a Souths supporter, I remember the one in 2007 when Asotasi smashed the shit out of Finch, Reynolds tackle on Sandow 2012, a Friday night game back in 1993 when Mark Carroll kicked a field goal for Souths and last game of 1999 at Para Stadium vs Souths.

It was marketed by Para as Souths last game but geez all the fans in the stands around me were so nice and at the time, we didn't know what was going to happen but not a nasty word was spoken. I always remembered that.

Mad Hatter I feel your pain being married to a Parra supporter. I'm married to a Souths supporter.
I was at the 2001 and 2005 matches you mentioned. They were bad losses. It killed me.

The bears game that has been mentioned was amazing.
2001 game v sharks at shark park where I was a guest of the sharks and we won 40-0 I think and I drank their beer and ate their food and entertained their women...well, the first 2 points anyway...
Best ever, watching 1981 GF at the SCG with my dear old dad.
BTW saw YouTube vision of that 92 game v the lions and it brought back some great memories. What I can't remember was the name of the little winger wearing 2 who had a blinder. Can anyone help out?

I'm still not sure I'm over them.......

In 2005 even I was completely gutted and I don't go for Para.

Saints had lost the night before to Wests (much to the sadness of the other half of the family) so that Cowboys semi was going to right the ship. Then Para got thumped...sigh!

2001 was much the same. 24-0 at half time, if I recall. Just completely one sided. One of only 2 times I ever wore a different jersey to a game (2010 GF in an Illawarra Steelers jersey for a mate RIP). Then found out we were sat with the Knights fans.

1998...we don't go there. Ever.

And before I go, I'm always quite partial to a Para game vs Brisbane in Brisbane. I remember 93 or 94 when the no name Eels beat a Broncos team full of Aust and SoO reps, pissing on their parade for the opening of the stadium. Ah yes!

Dragons final 09
The come back against the warriors around 04 I think it was - a bright light in a poor season.
Season game in 1990 against Canberra, we won I think 16 to 6. Sterlo's kicking in that game was amazing.

Are you thinking of the game against the Warriors at Parra Stadium in '03? I got there a little late, when I got there PJ Marsh was being stretchered off with a neck injury. Parra got ahead early, and then Sione Faumuina played perhaps the best 10 minutes I've ever seen from a backrower, taking the Warriors about 12 in front with about 10 to go. Anyhow, Parra came surging home, and with a minute or two to go, Witt grubbered in goal, it bounces on its point back over Stacey Jones for Parra to score and win. I couldn't leave my seat for a good 5 minutes, I was in absolute shock.

Speaking of Eels/Warriors matches, the 07 Semi Final is probably one of our best wins.

To go across the Tasman against a tough Warriors pack, and to hold them out for so long in the game was brilliant.

The defence from Parra was outstanding and I remember an injured Ben Smith had to tackle Logan Swann out wide. And Swann almost scored only to be held up over the line, and till this day I dont know how he didnt score. Brilliant defence.

The only downer in that game was losing Ben Smith and also the penalty try that Harrigan awarded. Thank fk he's not at any refereeing job today.

Still a great win.

It's not so much an entire game, rather an incident, but how good was the try that McKinnon scored after Barrett started throwing haymakers at PJ back in '05 or '06. I laughed at many a Saints fan after that incident.

Yeah for mine this was one of the greatest ever Eels wins. Harrigan's refereeing decision was just shocking, not as bad as his effort against us in 2002 vs Newcastle, but pretty bad.

My favourite passage of play was when the Eels held out the Warriors for five consecutive sets. When we finally got the ball the player who caught it just kind of collapsed forwards. Smith hobbled off as well, but he didn't leave until the defense was done. I remember also just how devastated Wade McKinnon was in the post match interview.
