Are you thinking of the game against the Warriors at Parra Stadium in '03? I got there a little late, when I got there PJ Marsh was being stretchered off with a neck injury. Parra got ahead early, and then Sione Faumuina played perhaps the best 10 minutes I've ever seen from a backrower, taking the Warriors about 12 in front with about 10 to go. Anyhow, Parra came surging home, and with a minute or two to go, Witt grubbered in goal, it bounces on its point back over Stacey Jones for Parra to score and win. I couldn't leave my seat for a good 5 minutes, I was in absolute shock.

Yeah I think that was the one - we scored three tries in the last ten. I think d wagon scored the final try. It was a bright spot in a dark period for the eels

I think you are talking about 2004. Langi just got the ball on the line i think to score the winner V the Knights. Johns and Seage both blew their knees out that night iirc.

I saw some footage at some point of Ronald Prince in 2004 at the Eels. He looked pretty handy. Why didn't he make the grade?

Most likely the same reason Ben Roberts won't become a nrl regular - to hot and cold. Also he lacked a bit of size.

It's not so much an entire game, rather an incident, but how good was the try that McKinnon scored after Barrett started throwing haymakers at PJ back in '05 or '06. I laughed at many a Saints fan after that incident.

There was an all-in brawl in the reserve grade game. I think about 4 blokes got sent off and the crowd, although small at the time, really started to get fired up.

By the time first grade started there was an edge to the atmosphere so St Merge decided to pour cold water all over it by scoring quickly and jumping out to a 14-0 lead (IIRC).

Then Barrett decided to coathanger Marsh. It was the first time I'd ever seen Hindmarsh lose his temper. If all of the players hadn't rushed in, I reckon he would have beat the living sh!t out of Barrett for his dog shot.

The crowd unanimously agreed that Barrett should be sent off and were screaming it at the top of their lungs.

I belive the only reason he didn't at least go to the bin was because Wade McKinnon had picked up the ball whilst the fracas was going on and strode down field under the sticks.

Video ref said green light. Parra went up about 3 gears and smashed the chokers into submission.

I was right on half way about 8 rows back and could hear the punches connecting in the Reserve Grade brawl. Had about 20 beers and fondly remember the first grade game as the best I'd been to. It went from so bad to so good in the space of a minute.
