I have a pic of my self as a fat boy. well lol I don't have a pic but If I don't go the gym for a couple of days I actually feel bad as in I can feel getting unfit.
Right now Im going through this stage as I have tendonitis in the right foot and problems with the left knee so I really can't do much training. I feel unfit.
Don't set unrealistic goals.
Most people set themselves the goal of being the best they can possibly be, and give up because it all becomes too hard.
If you set yourself the goal of doing 20 minutes solid exercise 3 times a week, that is the minimum recomended for good health - and you can always add extra if you feel like it.
I have a 2 year old son. And my father was my age (36) when he had his first heart issue. This has kicked me into action.
I try and go to the gym twice a week and run at least twice a week as well. I don't beat myself up if I miss a session though. I've also started riding my bike to work (weather permitting) and that's a great way to get the heart rate up.
The hardest thing is going for the first time, or going back after a break. Once you get back into the routine - especially once you start seeing results - I find that motivation takes care of itself.
