I use peanut butter myself. If you use something more solid, make sure to thread it onto the trap, don't just place it on there.

Mice a little Indiana jones bastards if you don't stick it right on there you'lll just wake up in the morning with a bunch on traps that haven't gone off but are cleaned out!

We stayed in a place in the country a few weeks back, we caught 3 mice with a trap like this with one small piece of cheddar

OK, I'll give the PB another go - I used PB on a piece of cheese without any luck. Mo action.

The little bugger took a piece of toast off it and then a piece of stale bread was nibbled at.

I keep trying to keep the trap trigger-ready so it's hard to catch.

The PB straight on the trigger plate will be next try.

When I lived in Orange and there was a minor plague, almost anything would work.

Mice will eat ceiling insulation and the insulation off your electrical cables.

In other words, they will eat anything.
