Moving the Western Sydney Panthers to Blacktown

This is NOT a thread about cutting the Panthers, so lets try to keeps that argument out of this.

Accepting the fact that the NRL needs a team west of Parramatta (I find that questionable, but again thats not whats being debated), Im wondering if Penrith is actually the best place for the team to play out of.

Imagine, for example, Penrith were to get this new West Sydney Stadium built just for them; is there any reason, other than "because thats how it is now", for them to be playing out of Penrith and not Blacktown.

Blacktown city is about twice the size of Penrith, and is in a far better location. Penrith is on the absolute edge of Sydney. Blacktown is accesable from Penrith, but also, much more accessible from the rest of sydney.

Sure, theirs heaps of juniors their, but can anyone bring up any statistics that says theirs more their than Blacktown or does anyone have any evidence to suggest that having a team in Penrith instead of Blacktown has a huge baring on these numbers.

and just where in Blacktown do you think they can put a stadium
facts
1.the current ground is walking distance to the rail station
2.A very large chunk of money comes from the panthers leagues club .Why would that continue if the team played out of Blacktown
3.Any new stadium could be built next door at the trotting club .Meaning no move at all
4.As for statistics on juniors .Blacktown and surrounding areas are where the borders of penrith and parramatta junior areas meet and 2 clubs play out of Blacktown.Penrith have several from penrith through to Katoomba

At this point there is more to lose by moving than there is by staying

What's the point? The main reason we want the panthers in the comp is because penrith is such a strong league area. What we really need is a competently run penrith club and then we will see it gain support. It doesn't need to be moved or culled.

It's an idea worth investigating to see if it's feasible.

Along the lines of Wests Tigers playing out of Narellen.

we now have that both in the leagues club that this year will turn a strong profit and players who will be at the club next year

Goes back to the stadium policy, new stadium built on a greenfield site and Doonside/Eastern Creek.

Penrith, Parramatta & Wests play games at the new stadium plus the Western Sydney Wanderers plus some Waratah games.
