On the deadline.
“Yeah, possibly. We needed more time and they wanted the decision quickly”
On leaving.
“I think half the boys already knew, but I had to make it official"
....
Cmon mate.

He wants the best coaching possible to make him a super star.

Yeah! It's all in the coaching teddy.....

We saw last year that the roosters are only a couple of injuries away from the bottom of the table. They put so much faith in buying the so-called best and having them not suffer injury that they have no plan B.

I just read that Tedesco has publicly stated that he was forced into the decision by the deadline imposed by Cleary.

Tedesco said the deadline and also the publicizing of the deadline impacted his decision. I am quite sure if the Tigers did not report this it would have been in the press just as fast. Also who bases a four year decision on such a small thing. Might as well say they ran out of Green Gatorade at concord so I am signing for four years with another club.

I think both Tedesco and Woods are grasping at straws . If you are going to give an interview or comment at all, just bloody well tell the truth, tell everyone why you are really upset (Didnt get whispering Jack at the club, Payton is not the coach, they wont let us run the club, blah blah blah whatever) put everything to bed and dont make statements that will raise more questions that will get you in the press the next day.

At the end of the day they are gone, nobody knows for sure what happened, maybe it was the money, maybe it was playing finals football, maybe it was unbearable at the TIgers and they made the decision way back this was their last contract, maybe they are just ungrateful knobs. Nobody here knows for sure, but whatever it is it is a good time to be a Tigers fan. When was the last time we had so many options, so much promise with a good coach and a little bit of coin.

"It is what it is" may become the war cry of a team that rises from this and shocks everyone (Except me and a couple of others here).

It's rubbish. All he had to do was pick up the phone and ask for more time due to x y and z. He made the decision to ignore the request, he made the decision to say it's all to hard and ultimately he made his own bed.

And I'll put it out there, if he did contact the club to ask for more time and the request got knocked back then I probably would be critical of the club in a way. But in saying that he has had plenty of time to make his mind up before the deadline was imposed.

Another player that thinks he has been driven out by the club, when in fact it was his decision to leave which is fair enough, but don't push the BS,man up and admit your leaving for whatever reason, people will then have more respect for you,Ted you should of taken a similar path to Josh Reynolds honourable departure from the Dogs rather then follow Aaron Woods Spineless exit method.

He's so full of shit about the deadline. How stupid does he think we are? He's just trying to save face from this act of treachery. Trying to make the board out to be the bad guys, just like Woods tried to do. Like others have said, if his manager had of asked for an extension it would have been granted in two seconds.

Myself and plenty of others have given the board plenty of shit over the years, but I back them completely over this contract saga. The only thing I could be critical of is not imposing the deadline sooner.

Both Woods and Tedesco would have dragged this thing out for as long as they could and tried to wrangle every last cent. Leaving us high and dry and not in a position to target any other quality players. These two clearly couldn't give two f**ks about what happened to us next year.

It was 100% these blokes decision to leave and they should man the f**k up and own it, rather than try and pass the buck and play the victim card.

I'm happy to move on from Tedesco because our future is actually really exciting, but don't try and sell us this bullshit on the way out and paint yourself as the good guy. You took the easy, cowards way out and that's on you, not the board.

You and the Roosters are a match made in heaven.

What a pathetic hollow lying little shitbag. This simpleton is only compounding the hate towards him by continuing to spout totally fabricated reasons as to y he didn't sign. The turd has form re lack of principles & integrity & it's very fitting he's ended up signing with the bondi rorters !

"I don't want this dragged out in the media"

I'm pretty sure Aaron woods is on Fox sports every 2 nights talking about his contract, the tigers board, Jason taylor, his misses, his dog, Ivan Cleary, how hard his life is.

But after signing for the dogs comes out and says "I don't like how things have been handled I just want to play footy"

I'm pretty sure just a few weeks ago you had james tedasco come out publicly ripping into the tigers and telling us how good of a club roosters are.

This is how I see it. They are all whinging about taylor getting sacked so from what I can see they wanted taylor there cos they could manipulate him into what they want and run the club. Now Ivan's come in told them who is boss and 3 of them have chucked a tantrum. Even moses trying to tell Ivan to release him but Ivans saying no shows how much less these 4 think they can run this club.

It's certainly a major reason y many of us have been critical of our admin the fact that the deadlines weren't imposed earlier.

Geez it's great once again to b a tigers fan.I walked out of LO last sat nite the most satisfied I've been in ages after a loss.Everything is falling into place quickly.Cant wait to see the back of the 3 ignorant grubs.

Please tell us how you felt when you guys lost rts

Mate you had to feel for them. They lost a guy that had been at the club for 3 years and helped win them a comp. Damn those clubs poaching all the long term Rooster juniours!

P.s an interesting note, My company did some business for RTS just before he left to the warriors. He told me he was only going for the 3 years and then was coming back to the roosters. I guess that's not gunna happen anymore.

I think it's clear that when the club pulled the contracts they already knew those 3 players were leaving. The club decided not to play along with the charade any longer, which allows them to start singing replacements. If they hadn't done that the offers would still be on the table and the tiny three would still be umming and ahhing about whether they were staying, while having already reached agreements with other teams. So the club has done the smart thing and also shown some leadership.

Give it time and this issue will fall into obsecrity because no one will care. A bit like Robbie Farah and his departure...

It's a shame really because the club could have used it to their advantage to pump up their rivals bids in order to raid their ranks.

No one would have begrudged him for going for a better contract. That's football. Players are coming to us next year for the same reasons.

What I can't cop is the stalling until the point that they're ready to go elsewhere and the ensuing excuses and reasons as to why they're going. It suggests that they harbour some guilt towards the way that they've behaved. A man would have stood up and said "I could have handled things better, I really didn't want to leave on bad terms."

Tedesco still isn't a patch on Woods. His behaviour as captain is f**king reprehensible. Imagine him leading you into battle?

Exactly. I don't get why anyone is even considering any other option that this guy is a merkin. He is a lying piece of shit.

I wish him the worst in life.

I just read that Tedesco has publicly stated that he was forced into the decision by the deadline imposed by Cleary. Initially I thought f**k off merkin you had since last year to decide but now I'm having second thoughts:
1. He didn't know who the coach was when original offer was made so he really hasn't started deciding until the last month
2. There are shit loads of players in NRL who haven't signed for next year. I understand Cleary is playing hard ball but f**k....it's Teddy
3. His manager probably had a million things going so asking for more time is not really a spit in the face

Yep my first thought on his comments where that he genuinely wanted to stay, and it wasn’t so much the deadline, but the way the deadline was publicly used to back him and woods against a wall that broke the camels back. He even cited his past raiders backflip as an example of needing more time to feel comfortable about staying on. What he wanted to see was there was going to be some signs of them being able to compete under the new coach, and instead was given an ultimatum to decide without having that opportunity. Looks like mini is now public enemy amongst tigpies fans
