Haha, your posts always give me a laugh, its kind of refreshing to see your dribble again.
much appreciated Simo, it has taken me ages to perfect my 'dribble' to this standard...
You are assuming right, I am no pro or amateur boxer, more of a footy man myself although I did put the gloves on against my brother after we watched Rocky III when we were young.....does that count?
No it most certainly does not, Rocky III indeed...now if you'd have told me that you didn't cry at the end of 'The Champ', then I'd have thought you were a tough bastard...
But again you seem to make points out of my posts that I never made. You see I dont recall ever mentioning anything about the courage of people who fight, the balls it would take to jump in and fight someone wanting to punch holes in you.
But however having courage does not equal being good. Any sportsman in the pro arena has records and some are amazing feats, others not so.
You can respect someone for trying, heck maybe more so for people who keep coming back despite copping a beating all the time.
Oh contraire Simpleton, it is evident to you, I and anyone unfortunate enough to be reading this post that I'm not making any 'points out of your posts' that you haven't made. I'm clearly referring to your 'laughing out loud' at this boxers record, in particular his recurrent ko defeats, and your unwelcome career advice...
How long have you been doing work experience at Centrelink anyway Simo ?
You can slip and slide all you like. I didn't criticise you for saying the man didn't have heart or courage, I simply asked if you had first hand experience yourself. As I made clear, you probably wouldn't think it amusing if you tried to stand up against someone intent on trying to knock you sparko...even for three minutes.
You don't know his reasons for being in the ring (financial, fulfilling a long held ambition, loyalty, or more personal, self-fulfilling notions), or for his loss record (poor matchmaking, regularly over matched, or just seen as an opponent...canon fodder).
I'm just wondering if you'd be happy that some nameless, shameless chancers on an internet forum were criticising your life choices.
It's always a chess match with you Simo, but regardless of that I'm happy to play along...say what you have to say fella, whatever maintains that fragile self-esteem, eh! At least we keep each other entertained...
Anyways has been fun again, see if you can throw in some cliches and talk about how your the big dog and stuff, ill just keep hanging around feeding off the leftovers.....
I've never been the big dog Simo, however, I often view our interactions as analogous to boxing matches...take this one for instance, surely Hopkins - Pavlik all day long.
I'm a toothless old pug, happily enjoying middle age, and your the young monster. Same result though, a wily old pro who's never out of shape, never been stopped, twenty years experience under the belt, and comfortable with the mind games...whereas, you don't have a punch at this weight.
If you're interested I thought our earlier work was very Hopkins - Calzaghe. You slipped, slopped and slapped all night until you eked out a disputed result.
Hope I managed enough cliches for you fella, if not I'll try harder next time.
I'm up your way soon Simo so we should catch up for a drink, until then ta-ta my young adversary.
