It's talk like this of cutting out sugar or carbs that makes me question the sanity of the die hards. What's the point of living to 105 if you're doing it eating lentil soup and quinoa salad?
Interesting reading a bunch of old threads. I am cutting back on the amount of meat I was eating (which was quite a lot) and inserting things like "Lentil soup" (or Daals) and quinoa salads and those things are pretty tasty when done well. The big problem with a lot of non meat meals I found was they were prepared so bland. Get a cookbook with some traditional indian dishes in it and suddenly you have some non meat alternatives that are pretty delicious.
According to the wikipedia Lentils per 100grams contain 26 grams of protein (comparable to beef) and 31 grams of dietary fibre.
I mean I still eat meat at least once a day but I eat sensible amounts while having other protein alternatives.
How did your challenge end up Cliffy.
