Inu loses out.

I don't give a crap about his one good game last week. I don't give a crap about his potential. I don't give a crap about the size of his paycheque.

He has sucked for two years now. Reddy has been awesome during that time.

As such, Inu misses out.

I also agree that Shackleton will have to earn his spot. Poore is an origin player so he can start but we can trumpet the Shackleton signing all we want - he is not in the same class as Poore to deserve an automatic starting spot.

At present, Smith is playing better. Smith is dropping a few balls but he's still ahead of Shackleton on form. Sure, Shackleton is playing for the sh*tty Roosters but that is not Smith's fault. If Shackleton's trial form warrants it then he should be given the nod. However, he may take time to lift his game and/or he may end up evens with Smith. If either of those are the case, Shackleton should start from the bench.

Lovely debating skills you have there. They'll take you far.

He has been our most consistent back over the past eighteen months. But like many others I believe he will be the odd man out. Who would you play him ahead of if everyone is in form?

It is unlikely that we will have every player available for each of the 24 games played next year so he will play at some stage due to injury, rep duty and form.

Reddy is a better centre than Inu, period. Inu needs to go back to the wing, so its out of him, Grothe and Burt.

I suppose we shouldn't count the fact that Inu hasn't won you $1800 either?

Still needs some work. It will get there though.

Your opinion. Mine is Reddy misses out. Not based on one game either by the way. I suppose we shall wait and see what happens Round 1, 2010.

Interesting Stat:

In 2009, the Eels have lost only 3 out of 13 times when Hayne has played the match from fullback.

In other words, if Hayne plays at fullback we only have a 23% chance of losing.

How do you base that judgement that smith is in better form than shack?

When you factor in one of those games was against Manly , when we lost KK and Caylo early and Mateo played with a busted arm. Then the game against Penrith which we should of won then the game against the Tigers when he was unwell. The stats do not lie

Yes and no. The yes is obvious. The no comes from the fact that Reddy has been our best back in the last two seasons whereas Inu has done pretty much crap all.

Surely you mean Hayne loses out, don't you HJ?

I'm guessing that by the beginning of next year HaHa will have signed with some other team/code and won't be playing Firsts for us. Which is ok, 'cause the word I'm getting is that Jamie Mahon will come out of retirement to play for Parra, NSW and Australia.

How do you base that judgement that smith is in better form than shack?

I base it on the fact that Shack is playing like utter sh*t. Yes, obviously at least in part due to the inept bunch of morons surrounding him but still...

IMO Inu is a better centre then Reddy (not that we have seen to much of that this year) and Reddy is a very good finisher and should be on one wing. With Tahu assured a centre spot and Grothe probably standing on the other wing Burt will be our utility man or fill in when required (injury etc)
