I would rather they kept Rothery than pick up another veteran like Reynoldson. We already have Miller, Turner and Plum all of who are similar types. Not only that if Rothery was to have a good year and make the top side he is also an excellent goal kicker which looks to be an issue if Dobson fails to become our regular half. Just on TLL, he is fast becoming the new Michael Weyman.

Agree with you 100% Syd on all the points you raised.

Rothery has been hard done by ... absolute no doubt about that.

I just dawned on me......... we will save

Reyno can double up as Victor the Viking.

Instead of having Victor+Reyno on the 2nd tier cap,

We can kill 2 birds with one stone, and fire Victor, make Reyno work double load as he has worked half assed this season, playing minimal games....bludger

Its called Cap efficiency

Now I see Raiders Managements vision!!!!!!!

Must admit ak47 that did escape my usually accurate assessments of this sort of thing.

I think you're spot on .... with mangement like this who really needs a football club to follow on the weekends huh !!

Gotta say Reynoldson is better than Miller, Weyman, Jones and Picker.

Miller on current form ill pay
Weyman when on park, no way
Jones, 50/50
Picker, not in any way shape or form, even this early on in Picker's career

I think he is definately better then Miller but.....

I like what i have seen from Picker at this stage. I would like to see him cement a bench spot in FG.

Weyman is still young and Reynoldson is considered a veteran. So youth v experience on that one. Not sure which i would take. Even though i am not a huge fan of Weyman.

an I don't mind Jones.

But we also have plenty of other Stocks with Plum, Turner (getting on), TLL, Costigan, Thurling, Tongue, Rothery, Thompson, Logan, Tilse, Bickerstaff (pending retirement), Chalk, Campese.

I don't know if we need another forward of that mid standard. Though if he came to Canberra and did a Costigan i wouldn't complain. For me... Just don't spend too much on him. We need to resign youth next year.

Miller's had an indifferent year, but what he gave us last season is better than anything I've seen from Reynoldson. I just hope he can regain that form. If Bickerstaff goes I think we'd be better off keeping the cash in the kitty.

If we can get Plum, TLL, Miller and Jones fit for next season there's no way we'll need captain Kirk IMO. We'd be better off saving our cash to replace Logan with a genuine front rower. I'd prefer to give Brenton Lawrence a crack or have bloody O'Hara back to be honest.

I'll give you the first three but Picker will be a standout if he is given a fair go in first grade.

We dont need kirk at the club.

As above there is plenty of forwards imo better than him at the club.
Why waste more cash on a player and in a position we dont need.

Last season Miller lasted 30 minutes before going down with a season-ending shoulder injury. I know Reynoldson's not spectacular, but boyo that's harsh.

Harsh but fair!

My bad. I meant his 2005 pre-injury form. (Jeez, I obviously wiped that one from the memory banks!)
