Everybody is quick to drop Graham to the bench or even PL,but IMHO he is going better than Buckets and offers more variety maybe loyalty is blinding your judgement.

And to think were on national TV in 3 weeks against the premiers at their home ground.....might be as embarrassing as getting beaten by the Broncos reserve grade last time we was on 9.

Not necessarily..........anything can happen in a game of footy.

I have NEVER acted over confident about Penrith's chances........not even after we
won the trophy. As I said.........ANYTHING can happen.

Look at this week........Penrith had a really off game and had to fight hard to keep
the points. No team can be world beaters every single week..........just look at the
Roosters... ;-)

And don't forget that you have 3 former Panthers in Satts, Elford and Reynolds, and
as is human nature, they will want to rub it in to the Panthers heirarchy that they lost some
great players.

I'm predicting a Penrith win.........but not too over confidently......that's for sure... :D

The worst thing about it is whilst the Maggies have a bit of size in Premiers in Flegg we got nuthin. Our Flegg side are fricn midgets.

We have the opposite thing happening - our premiers boys aren't actually very big (just very effective) but we got a couple of big boys in flegg with hunter and harper - and ewen cameron likely to join them once the sg ball season finishes

We do need to sign a couple more at the end of this year though - even if its to stop the wests tigers pinching all of our young talent next year ;-)

magpiemax - you make the point of salary cap restrictions preventing the signing of more props - but the fact remains that Yappy - myself and others were bemused last year when our recruitment focussed on f**king aging back-rowers and fringe-dwelling outside backs!!

And while I am not saying Satts - Graham - Eelford etc have been a waste of money - they are not going to win us games without decent go-forward from the engine room - and we never recruited for that - despite watching the lowly Penrith team climb to the top of the NRL on the back of a huge forward pack and four-prop rotation!!

We also let some of our younger and more dynamic back-rowers leave in the form of Manu & O'Donnell - and we have lacked that tackle-breaking spark in 2004 - as Satts and Graham don't play that style of game!!

The point is that it was during recruitment in 2003 that we should have realised our prop stocks were low and needed boosting as a major priority (not just with one token buy in Payten) - and the fact is while many supporters could see that apparently Tim - Steve & Royce could not!!!

And now we're all paying the f**king price for their disgraceful lack of foresight!!!

851 - the day Buckets misses 6 tackles in a game (as Nick did this week) - I may agree with you!

Until then......... (don't hold your breath by the way)

The lack of props on the market doesn't cut any ice either.

Chan, Heckenberg, Donnelly, and Hall were all pretty much unwanted. Two or three of them would have been a bargain and given the Tigers some muscle. No they ain't Origin class, but they get the job done.

I wanted Matthew Kennedy from the knights - he was going cheap but ended up re-signing due to a lack of offers, he's still young but better than most of what we've got and has looked alright from what I've seen this year

Snide, whilst you make some very valid points the reality is that had we bought some great front rowers which there have been none available for at least the last 24 month's that I know of,we would of then been complaining of not having enough good back's as you can only fit so many players under the cap.Now in regards to Manu & O'Donnell,I have it on very good authority and I MEAN VERY GOOD AUTHORITY,that Manu is a very inconsistent trainer and a disruption to the team basically he is Ill disciplined and very unreliable and O'Donnell wanted to leave. But I know where your coming from and I too feel the anguish. :(

Brook,I can tell you we were a whisker away from signing Mat Jobson but missed out because I think it was the warriors who offered him 20 cents more.

I know Sheens will be targeting props for next season. Sheens thought we needed strengthening in other positions first, such as pretty much the entire backline. Thankfully we picked up Payton in a nice guesture by the roosters, but other than him there were none when we were ready to pick them up.

Jobson is a glorified back-rower - not a true prop!!!

pete - as for Tim targetting props next year - mate the f**king horse has bolted!!!

2003 saw the greatest number of free-agents on the market EVER - and that included a bunch of quality props!!! Plus we had the most spare money to spend under the cap of any team - and more than we are ever likely to again have spare in future!!!

Now all the best prospects have been snapped up and we're f**ked!!!

Be assured that there will be f**k-all half-decent front-rowers on the market this year - and we will struggle to fit anyone under the cap anyway!

As for needing to strengthen other positions first - you are f**king kidding!!!

Yes - we needed a genuine halfback - but we didn't need two more specialist locks - both on the wrong side of 28!!!

EVERYONE KNOWS GAMES ARE WON UP FRONT - AND THAT GOOD BIG MEN ARE AT A PREMIUM!!! HOW THEN CAN ANYONE JUSTIFY BACK-ROWERS AND THREE-QUARTERS AS A HIGHER PRIORITY!!!!

You can buy halves all you like - but they will always struggle behind a beaten pack!! So all I can assume is that if Sheens decided the other recruited positions were more important than front-row - this decision was not based on winning games!!!

The fact is that our failure to buy more than one prop was mismanagement (if not rank incompetence) by our recruitment team and is directly responsible for our current bind - and I (among others) did not need a crystal ball to see this coming over nine months ago!!!

LOL this post would make more sense if I'd read what I typed before posting

I was trying to say i'm NOT really a fan of Jobson and I think the knights ended up keeping the right one (kennedy)

and between graham and satts they missed 11 tackles and made 58

in his last 2 games buckets makes 62 and misses 1.

between then they have missed 27 tackles or 5.4 tackles a game.
yet buckets has missed just 3 tackles in 4 games.
