just finished watching the game and id have to say after reading some comments i feared for the worse.

but after watching the game i thought our boys played really well and have improved a great deal, although they need to do something about there 5th tackle options.

the tries they let in came down to more bad luck than bad play.

tim smith was unlucky not clean up the ball that led to lyons try, the first stewart try was a no try in my book and how he managed to get that 2nd try is beyond me, talk about freakish.

so all in all not a bad performance and id give the boys 7.5 out of 10.

spot on redback. except i think our forwards could have aimed up bit more.

finch and smith have to work something out on the 5th tackle. i suggest finch leaves it all up to smith as finch is woeful at kicking.

dont know what grothe and b smith were waiting for when stewart scored his second. they just waited on the line and didnt bother moving up. it was a soft try.

it was finch who didnt hold on to the kick through for lyons try.

brett stewart's first try was an intersting decision. i thought it should have been a refs call. even though it was a BOD call, i can not see how there was enough evidence there to give a try.

The last tackle options has to improve, there doesnt seem to be much talk between the dummy half and the playmaker they always seem to take the wrong options.

And theyve got to stop this running from dummy half BS on the 4th tackle close the goal line, it happened a couple of times last night and it stuffed up the play.

The first half has always been good for Parramatta, but why is that with 1-2 minutes before the break, a try or penalty goal against them seems to turn the game around.

Grothe needs a kick up the @rse for not trying to be front row forward all the time and hold the ball properly.

Nathan Cayless take a bow, really guts it out there last night. Typical work from the captain.

I was quite proud of our performance

We we $2.60 to win that game
Playing at Brookvale against one, if not the gun side of the competition so far
Second half they had a bit of luck, kudos to them.

Guys like Inu, mateo, Zeb getting great first grade exposure against quality sides, they will all get better.

Im confident we will be there at the back end of the year, particularly rd 20 ;-)

Good points.

I think the 5th tackle stuff comes down to the combination not having gelled and the fact we've change our dummy half so often this season. Just think, we've had Riddell, Marsh and Green at dummy half, trying to get a combo with Smith and/or Finch, whose combination with each other hasn't fully settled in yet.

In my book if Smith is so talented he has a responsibility to get in there and get it sorted. He's the number 7 and should be the go-to man in those situations, and he should have a plan b if the defence pressures him.

Hagan needs to settle on a dummy half and train that combo under pressure all week to get the 5th tackle options right. I guess in the modern game and with Riddell's game we're stuck with two different number 9s per match, so that just means twice the training for those 5th tackle plays. It has to pay off soon...

I agree, when Smith calls for it he gets it. Simple as that. Sometimes the dummy half, especially Riddell, throws it away from Timmy.

Riddell's field goal attempt was wrong. We had them under pressure and a repeat 6 would've been better.

We didn't play too bad but we need more mongrel in our pack. We need big hits to liven and boost up the adrenalin in defense. Zeb can give this.

I still think our pack is TOOO NICE !!

I agree mate, our pack is far to nice. When Ben Smith was smashed by Matai our forwards should have fired up. Instead they seemed to go into their shells. It didn't help that Hindy had his quietest game of the year.
