With changes likely to come for NSW and a few other factors such as - being a front row short on the bench imo, and the ordinary performance of Brent Kite, does Joel Clinton have any chance of getting a front row spot on the bench? A few weeks ago I would have said no chance but I just looked at nrlstats and he made 184m (19 runs) and made 32 tackles, if he puts in another performance like that next week, I wonder if he would be considered.

Bailey will come back, Weyman and Poore will keep their spots, I think Kite should go and think they need a 4th front rower - however this could be taken by TLL, depending how they want to play him and if Gallen is fit.

This type of thread has been done a thousand times. I can tell you this now though. If Hindmarsh is not in the next SOO then the selectors need their heads read. If he is not a "State of Origin" player then I do not know who is. He was outstanding yesterday, with the clean up work and the extra things he does. Chasing kickers, taking blokes down when they are standing in tackles, diving on loose balls etc etc. Gallen should not be there, Hindmarsh should.

I think there is a need to try to maintain save some face and hopefully avoid a white-wash, but that needs to be balanced against preparing for the future.

1. Hayne
2. Josh Morris
3. Jennings
4. Cooper
5. Brett Morris
6. Gidley
7. Kimmorley
8. Bailey
9. Ennis (I'd prefer if Farah warranted retention, but really he doesn't ... which is a pity, since I think he'll be back and all the experience he can get is worth its weight in gold.)
10. Poore
11. Hindmarsh
12. Creagh
13. O'Donnell

14. Soward
15. Weyman
16. Learoyd-Lahrs
17. Watmough

The above team provides a core of experience to complement a team that is IN-FORM and features some established combinations.

Experience, form, combination ... I think every selection should tick at least two of these three boxes. Secondary to that, is the need to prepare for the future.

Guys like Farah, Campese, Wallace, Stewart, Williams, Mongahan, Mullen and Gallen will have a chance to earn their way back in (with the last two somewhat hampered by injury this season) and will hopefully be better for the taste they've had recently. Ideally the same advantage must be extended to the Morris twins, Ennis, Soward and Learoyd-Lahrs so that we can pick the best possible side for Game 1 2010 without all of the hub-bub over debutants (sure, that won't make them experienced, but at least the guys in my team won't have the additional barrier to selection of having zero Origin experience).

Brett Morris is a left winger so probably outside Cooper 'cause he's a specialist left centre, Josh Morris is left centre at the dogs and I'm not sure if he can play right that's not to say they wouldn't pick him there (game 2 they put Monaghan at left when he's normally a right). I'd say they'd be more reluctant to move Cooper from his favoured left centre if they went that way.

This is the team that should of been chosen from the first game IMO. Experienced halves and ORIGIN TYPE PLAYERS like QLD has but NSW don't. I'm even going to go as far as announce new coaches lol (im very frustrated by NSW performance).

1. Kurt Gidley - Has to be there however Stewart would be my choice if he was fit.
2. Jarryd Hayne - Our best player this series
3. Josh Morris - Big, strong & just what NSW needs
4. Matt Cooper - Best defensive centre in the world & our defence has been atrocious
5. Eric Growthe - Big, Strong and a mongrel. Exactly what NSW needs
6. Trent Barret - proved himself at this level and is the best and logical choice
7. Brett Kimmorely - another seasoned campaigner and would be great with Barret IMO
8. Justin Poore - Along with Weyman has been the best NSW prop this year
9. Michael Ennis - Farrah is too much of a pussy pretty boy. Leave origin to the men.
10. Michael Weyman - See Poore
11. Anthony Watmough - Brilliant in game 2 and should start
12. Luke O'Donnell - Brilliant in game 2 and one of NSW best
13. Allan Tongue - Why NSW wont pick him is a huge mystery to me

14. Nathan Hindmarsh - exactly what an origin player should aspire to be. Dont know how an origin team can be picked without his experience.
15. Ben Creagh - Young and eager and in great form
16. Luke Bailey - A brilliant player whom i believe will provide greater impact off the bench
17. Craig Wing - See game 1. Absolutely Brilliant. However he wouldnt be in my team if Stewart was fit as id move Gidley to the bench.

18th man - Craig Fitzgibbon - Brilliant origin player and QLD would find it much harder to dominate if Craig was playing in a sky blue jersey.

Also Andrew Johns should be Head Coach with help from John Cartwright, the same way Meninga coaches with help from Neil Henry. John Cartwright is SO passionate and thats exactly what NSW needs. And NSW need a full time origin coach and i think Johns would do great. However the selectors are idiots and thats why we lost. Funny how they cleaned out the old guys after last year but if my memory serves me correctly we were 10 mins away from winning origin last year with the older guys and it was only some Thurston magic that prevented us winning game 3 however this year we have been pumped due to inexperience.

Gidley is "poo in origin" yet you suggest Dean Young would be a better utility? Dean Young is a utility in that he's a piece of sh*t in every position he plays. Also, O'Donnell captain? I'll chalk that up to you being a tard.

Sorry I must have struck a nerve, I know you love Gidley and all but c'mon hand off it for one sec. I chose Dean young in my team cause he can play hooker and back row + good defender. He's a good player IMO not flashy but solid, A TEAM PLAYER. O'Donnell is my captain because he is a player who I believe will still be around for a few series' yet, what's the point of picking a Captain who may not even make the team if Brett Stewart comes back. Gidley got the captaincy because he's a Joey Johns bum licker, who has friends in the right places.

Who cares...

All I know is that the NSW selectors have to be questioned over some of their choices. How Kimmorley - who has been the 2nd best NSW halfback behind Johns for years - and Hindmarsh (an all out try who never stops) can't be in the side amazes me. They drop them after one bad game, or for getting on a bit, or for no reason at all. They seem to go with the likes of Mullen, Wallace, Pearce etc on a whim when Kimmorley is better than them hands down. In a few years these guys may be in his class but not yet.

That would be like QLD dropping Petero/Price for being too old or Smith for having one bad game or being slightly down on form at club level ... would never happen.
