Not that I think DCE has a right to the Australian 7 but with Mal 'Incumbency' Meninga (Or is it loyalty?) leading the team its a different story.

The last time the Kangaroos played a match was in 2019 which we lost to Tonga. I remember being frustrated with DCE in the final minutes as the team appeared disorganised when we needed points.

Our current world ranking is 4th. The incumbent captain (Cordner) is now long retired. I think its obvious that the team needs a change along with fresh leadership.

Cleary is one of the best 17 players in the country. If he isn't playing 7 then he probably plays 6. Or even the bench.

As for Luai he would need to go another level before he makes the Australia squad.

Agreed Fangs. Incumbancy shouldn't factor into it - it's been far too long between games for it to matter.

From memory the gap between 1st and 8th last year was the difference between 1st and last 20 years ago.
To me that says a lot...

I don't know that our 2001 side would have made last year's 8.
