There are some judges out there that like to reward "name" players rather than the true top 3 of a match. I listen to a lot of radio calls of matches and quite often their 3,2,1's are completely different to the Dally M points.
Some weeks I watch a match and then check the points given and think WTF?
I would have to say the back 3rd of the year I thought Nathan's form had quieten a little compared to earlier in the year. By contrast Luai's picked up.
Do I think Wighton is the best player of the year? No, but, he probably benefits from having no Hodgson claiming points from him.
Looking at the leader board of the top 21 players 4 are Panthers. Only 1 Raider (Wighton) and 1 Eel Gutherson.
If Cleary couldn't win it I would have had Gutherson ahead of Wighton.
One thing is for sure Nathan certainly has the best motivation this weekend. I hope he puts in a blinder. A premiership is more rewarding than a Dally M.
