I think he's been sacrificing quality for the sake of quantity. he does a lot of work, and that's great, but his hit-ups have been a bit soft IMO. what do y'all reckon?

WTF?! talk about misinterpreting. i'm not saying that Hindmarsh is crap, what i'm saying is that most anyone can do large quantities of work, but only a rare few can dish out the top quality like Hindmarsh can. but in terms of quality, he's been outshone by a number of other Tri-Nations forwards IMO. so what i'm suggesting is that maybe if Hindy decreased his workload just a lil, the quality of his work might increase, and therefore make more of an overall impact

i agree in a way, he does so much work that often when it comes to hitups he becomes ineffective.

dunno, its part of his game, if someone runs at him, he cant run away and let someone else tackle him

true but often you see him come in and make a tackle on a bloke already covered by his team mate, not a bad thing but that extra effort takes it out of him from what i see which is why his hit ups are less effective

but then there are times like in the last couple of games v GB

once in the last game Hindy stopped a 3 man break by the poms forced one guy to pass tackled the 2nd and pushed the 3rd into touch. If players outside him in this case I beleive it was Tonga who let the play go through had been doing their job in defence Hindy wouldn't have needed to cover their arses.

and then the 2 field goal charge downs in the 1st game v GB. One he re gathered that lead the the Rooney try.

There are times when he does come in as the 3rd man when realistically he is not needed but that isn't as much as some seem to think it is.

also a lot of the time Hindy seems to be being used as a decoy so rather then being able to stand back for a tackle or two then take a hitup he is the decoy for 3 tackles then takes the hitup of the 4th and chasing the kick the next tackle.

As soon as the 2iron with ears ( coach Bennett) replaced him in the 2nd test v's the poms we had no chance of beating them.
A great player with untold stamina and endurance.
How could you ever bag him?

Hindmarsh was devastating in 2001 when he was used as a running backrower, I would love to see him running hard with the ball again.

Hindmarsh is the best forward in the game bar none and he thrives on the workload.

Someone mentioned Bennett replacing Hindmarsh against Great Britian and I agree, bad move. He's an eighty minute player and should be on the whole game. He doesn't need a rest.

Hopefully the Glenn Morrison signing will help him with that

He has been forced to carry Parra since 2001 & now I think his mindset is to just keep doing everything when, amongst this Aus team, he could really afford to have a breather & make say three instead of four tackles per set.

Next year though I agree with Chippo, Morrison will help spread the load out & with any luck that will bring back the ball running Hindmarsh.

with Morrison in the team hindys defencive workload will be taken down a notch, i liken Morrison to another hindy, just not asa good in all areas, pretty much a Mini Hindy

that will without a doubt be the best back row in the comp next year

Why couldn't he have followed his brother :(

Hindy should be the advisor for the tackling sessions in the preseason.....he'd be unforgiving and Vella wouldn't get a rest
