Howdy fellow League lovers.

Where are Baum & Wilson & Smith? Tanking in AFL seems to be a far more pressing concern than getting sideways & being suspected of being involved in a drug syndicate. Wider societal issue of course, buty League players on the drink is the cause for global warming

Just fired this off to Caro Wilson at The Age. She should enjoy some feedback, judging on that publications circulation. Have a geezer & then farkin bombard the cow....

Hi Caro,

What’s the word from th up on high AFL journo fraternity on NLM’s bust? Surely this is an outrage right? Or is it OK to support him because he happen to play AFL instead of NRL? I know the answer. It will be swept under the rug and reported as a wider societal issue, whilst yourself & your lackies on the off siders take pot shots at the NRL players out oin the drink.

Will you take the line of he’s entitled to his day in court? I’m sure you will & I would support that 100%, but herein lies the problem Caro. You are willing to pass judgment on QLD players for “alledgedly” taking a coctail of Red Bull & Stilnox. “Alledgedly”, lets talk about that word – nowhere in your dissection of the situation on Offsiders two weeks ago did you use it. Why not? You assume that it is fact simply because RL players were doing it, right? And even if they were, what does it matter? Both products are legal, right? Please correct me if I’m wrong.

I undertsand that the media have a job to do & power to you. Just don’t do it as you see fit, firing barbs at a game you don’t understand form your insular world in Melbourne. Fast Eddie McG said it right – It’s a different continent in Sydney & QLD – one you don’t care to know anything about at the very least & for who’s culture you have outright disdain for at worst ( I firmly suspect the latter, Caro). You can make all the paranoid nnoise you like about the evils of RL, but as a journalist, isn’t it your duty to make just as much noise when “alledged” incidents happen in your back yard.

That is reasonable, right?

I found it ironic that one ecstacy tablet was all that A Johns was ever caught with. Obviously there was a bit of history there but as far as actually being cought with anything it's the same drug and same amount that Lovett was allegedly caught with.

I agree 100% with what you are saying but I hope you put that through a spell check before you sent it off

her and Magnay said Thurston was guilty because he hadn't come out and denied the newspaper allegations

this clown has said he will fight the POLICE charges so by her rational he must be innocent unlike Thurston

as if offsiders will mention it anyway

I have been conducting a one sided conversation with Magnay about her attidue to Rugby League and it started over the Parramatta club and the allegations she made on Offsiders.
So far she has not retracted them, in spite of the police clearing the Gentleman of the Allegation,we then moved on to all of her appearances on Offsiders and some of her Columns in the Herald, these people never admit they are wrong, unless you sue them.
Its the same with Offsiders and the Telecrap, the Tele jurnos dont care what you say, if you say something they don.t like, they don't print it,your telling them what you think about things, but if it don't comply with NEWS view of the world it down the chute you go

I was quite amazed after watching WA regional news last night how little it was reported. They had background splash of WCE with a short snippet saying ".....he alledgedly had one tab....& is fighting the charge, meanwhile the Eagles...". That was all & over in a matter of seconds. No going to AFL HQ for an updated on the situation or even replays of the statement from their CEO. They must have received the mandate from God saying only 1 minute of coverage was allowed!

no it wouldnt, no one really cares about rugby in melbourne. Besides the only reason for lovett-murray not to be the lead story was due to some terrorist arrest. Oh and as far as AFL stories like this being swept under the carpet, um Ben Cousins ?

Sorry pal, but if this this lovett-murray story was a league one, the Sydney media would be all over it with CODE IN CRISIS, CODE DRUG CRISIS.

In the last few weeks we've had the Jason Moran-Carlton-alleged rape story, Albert Proud being convicted of glassing a woman and now an AFL star having his house raided by the cops for drugs.

Each one of these stories have been reported once then pretty much forgotten about and this is in the AFL states.

Had they been league stories they would all be linked together to prove RL has a disgusting culture both in the 'national' media (shows like offsiders, back page ect) and in the Sydney press.

Where's the Code in Crisis headlines in Melbourne's Herald Sun? Where's the outrage on the Offsiders or in the latest Fat Pat article?

Melbourne journos and AFL types enjoy slipping the boot into RL for its problems, yet say nothing when the same sorts of sh*t break out in boggerball.

She's a hypocrite of the highest order so I doubt she'll even see this as worthy of a response but I too hope you put it through a spell checker as well before you sent it off!

Are you alleging that I didn't? Is that something you are alluding to?

Well, you would be right. In between work, talking to banks, solicitors and real estate agents yesterday I jotted that down as quickly as I could.

You blokes school teachers or just general pains in the arse?

I think it's more the fact that the first sentence is not easy to read, and any opportunity someone who gets mass emails (which are generally not pleasant) to skip over the 'unworthy' emails, they will take.

Your only chance of being heard is if you keep things short and to the point and just as importantly use proper grammar.

(For the record I agree with what you said, I just dont think they'll bother reading past the first line to be honest)

I reckon. Who cears abowt spell check. I hate people pointing out grammar problems to other people. Sets you up to look like a real f*ckwit. I am sure if you sent it off they would get the point regardless of a few grammatical errors.

In your first paragraph I believe you should have put a full stop after the word "read". The second part does not read well. You would have been better of saying something like, "People whom get emails on mass (which are often not pleasant), will use any oppurtunity to skip over the ones they feel are unworthy."

Wouldn't you agree.

I think the second paragraph could have been better too. I believe you should have said, "Whilst correct grammar is important, I believe your best chance of being read is by keeping your emails short and too the point."

Finally why not say something to finish off like, "To be honest I feel they will not read what you have written, although I personally agree with your views."

Now I am in no way an English whiz. Actually I really sucked at school. I just thought with a few simple changes your response could have come across a wee bit better.

seriously, who gives a f**k!

there's more threads about boggerball on this site then there is on bogfooty.

are rugby league supporters going to continue to be the little pissant who thinks they're always wronged? are we so insecure that we have to pick on every little thing that goes on in that comp?

grow some f**king balls and let's concern ourselves with making this game better rather than worrying about every little thing that goes on there.

Wow, thanks for that champ.

The only time I ever point out the grammar used by someone is if they have submitted something to the media, and the only reason I bring that up is to inform them that unless they use better english they'll ignore it.

Learn to spell before you preach to other people about their spelling and grammer. God you're a loser. Stick to the subject. If people wanted an english class they would go back to high school.
