Just as thought I was just wondering how
GREAT i could become amongst such A level playing field?
ST GOERGE a below average football side beat the mighty broncs The nrl have a lot to answer for NO longer DO I have a great side i can knock. NO LONGER DO we we have a team that is the the shining light.Instead i have capable, ok, good , try hards. But no team that is GREAT.
EXCEPT THE NEWCASTLE KNIGHTS I have to say i only watch the last 15minutes tonight but the broncs were robbed Its offensive that i have to watch such $hite . And its not going to get any better.

Hey idiot. How can you say the Broncos were robbed when you only watched the last 15 mins? You didn't see the 3 or 4 earlier incidents that lead to either Broncos points, or good field position that lead to Broncos trys. If the Knights are as good as you make out, why are they so far down the ladder? It's buffoons like you that give the Knights supporters a bad name. Think before you type.

The Broncos were in no way robbed, they should have put the Dragons premier league side away, but they did'nt, and if you looking for a high quality side to knock you need I'm sure one of the Sydney teams could fit the bill. How is it a national disgrace, when you've got young teams like Penrith coming through?

The full strength Knights pack bashed Saints last week. They also bashed the Warriors and looked slightly better than the Canberra pack I thought.

Watching the Saints pack really match it with the much talked about Broncos pack just makes me realise that our full strength pack is the equal, if not better than equal, of any pack in the comp.

Last time we played Easts, Morley and co really handed us a hiding, but I think that was the game Perry was suspended for and Parsons was injured. I wonder how those Easts forwards will go against the big boys. Not so good I'd wager.

It is offensive I have to see it live. lol

It is offensive the touch judges only run on to see themselves on TV when they get home.

It is offensive that players take a dive & pretend to be knocked out, only to see them lift their heads to see what the ref is doing.

That touch judge was a 'disgrace'

How on earth did he miss half of S.Kelly's body being dragged over the sideline  .

Then the ref was seen laughing when the video screen replay came up

Tim Mander had a good game overall - I think he talks to the players well, and even Gordon Tallis seemed polite at stages of the match. It takes a lot of reputation to earn that respect - he handled players well.

His decisions were mostly the right ones - a couple of ordinary calls from the touchie, and perhaps one or two debatable penalties for stripping - but he certainly didn't tip the balance any particular way. A commendable job in my books :)

The Broncos looked quite good at times. The difference Lockyer makes at the back is unbelieable, he is a quality player who simply knows how/where to put people in space, inch-perfect kicks etc. Brisbane rely heavily on him to produce something.

I thought the Broncos should have won last night. They had everything in their favour, including being 1 point up with 10 minutes to go. But St George, to their credit, managed to hang in there, and Riddel's ridiculously successful kick from the 40 metre line was about as good as you're going to see.

Riddel, love him or hate him, had a good game. His second try, tapping the ball and dragging 4 or 5 players over the line with him, made Brisbane look incompetant, and Riddel look like a machine. His kicking was quite good (especially the goal to win the game), and defensively he was quite o.k. I personally think he comes across as arrogant - but he won them the game, so he gets a lot of the credit for standing up and being counted in a side without some big names.

It was a close finish - a good season-ending win for the Dragons, and a sign the Broncos are struggling to put away the important matches. The Broncos don't actually look that bad - they're just not winning games.

The same tough judge ruled that a Broncos player stripped the ball off a Dragons player, when in fact the Dragons player lost it.

there was another bad call against the dragons towards the end of the match when the saints were penalised for stripping the ball when there was clearly only ONE tackler ,lockyer then went on and kicked the field goal!

Well I have to say the better team on the night won the game. The Dragons deserved the win, The Broncos are a shadow of the team we've come to know. Seven loses in a row tells the story of the Broncos, I said weeks ago on the old forum that the Groncos were going to struggle this year and they are. You can't blame seven loses in a row on the touch judges.

Actually while we're mentioning pre-season predictions, I distinctly remember saying the Broncos would struggle this year - I predicted that they would still make the eight, but only just. I cited reasons such as their age, the rep season and being left behind by younger and more mobile packs - this must be the first time in recorded forum history I've been on the money.

Anyone got a cheque for me? Are you sure it isn't in there somewhere? Oh, that doesn't count for anything?

Hmm, oh well looks like myself and Antonius win the prediction awards for this week:

Indeed - a bit of mutual tumidus caput right there Tony. 8)

Don't write us off yet. Remember the 1993 the Broncos came from the 5th(last place in the finals) to win the GF.

But I won't be placing money on it.
