Hull KR, Leigh and Whitehaven all on target to battle out the top spot and a hope for promotion... At this stage York and Oldham looking very likely to take the drop, would have been handy to peg Batley back yesterday.

That HKR performance in the cup was a great advert for NL1 and i reckon that Widnes, Leigh and Whitehaven at full strength are as good as Hull so it's a great comp esp considering i haven't mentioned Rochdale who have strengthed recently

York have a slight hope, with the wheels maybe coming off at Donny and Fax. If they win this weekend I think they have a chance.

It's going to be very difficult for York to survive now. Of their eight games left, four are against the top four sides. Sad to see Oldham in such a mess but that's what happens when a club is without their own ground.

Celtic seem unable to get any consistency and they don't seem to be showing any sings that they are ready for NL1.

Yep, York didn't show up in the first half in what was their most important game this year. I think most are now resigned to following the usual NL2 -> NL1 pattern and going straight down again.

It's very frustrating however our two last home games have seen crowds of 931 and 1057 respectively, so interest is building up for a 3rd Division club in a non-heartland area where there is still some resentment of the Union players leaving to go up north in the 80's and 90's. Progress is being made off the pitch:cool:

I think, both on and off the field, Celtic are doing more than okay for a first season in that division but it's a massive step up into NL1.

Still, the thought of Celtic thrashing Wigan next year is a good one.

An interesting take on Sunday's events...

"Build and they will come"

Should there ever be a Superleague club in South Wales, I honestly think we could attract 5 figure crowds... I know that is a bold statement but with there being no competition from Union or Football for most of the summer (May to August), League could capitalise. 1000 fans on Sunday is great for a 3rd division side, the potential is there. It is just up to the M62 lot whether they want to see their sport grow or not.
