Yeah I get it's an alternative - I also get that it's geniused. No need to get defensive just cause it's a stupid suggestion.

As far as whether he's a pure point or not I'm not convinced either - but neither is Westbrook or Rose and they're both in the conference finals. Ok he isn't the player that either of those guys are, but next to a Tyreke Evans (for example) he wouldn't have to be.

Not getting defensive at all.

Just trying to cover all bases...no matter how stupid, ridiculous or geniused they are.

And I agree 100% next to Tyreke he wouldn't have to be.

Cavs should use their trade exeption and try to get Rudy Gay.

Memphis wont let Gay go.

Battier is a FA whenever a CBA is done...They'll sign Gasol and their starting line up is locked in.

Maybe Cav's could sign a Battier for 1-2 years until they can find a quality SF.

I certainly hope so.

Oh well, maybe it wasn't so bad that the T-Wolves dropped to No.2. Now they won't have the option of drafting another PG

And once again, Lol at the Clippers

Wolves general manager David Kahn said he knew Minnesota was "dead" when it got down to the final three of himself, Utah executive Kevin O'Connor and Nick Gilbert.

"This league has a habit, and I am just going to say habit, of producing some pretty incredible story lines," Kahn said. "Last year it was Abe Pollin's widow and this year it was a 14-year-old boy and the only thing we have in common is we have both been bar mitzvahed. We were done. I told Kevin: 'We're toast.' This is not happening for us and I was right."

Haha he so wanted to draft another PG.

I wonder if he worded it carefully enough to avoid a massive fine from Stern?

hahahahahaha - just saw that and was going to post it as well. That is classic. Man David Kahn cracks me up. If he hadn't drafted 3 point guards two years ago and 3 small forwards last year, signed Darko to a ridiculous contract or signed Ridnour (and before him, Sessions) to contracts, then maybe he wouldn't need to be drafting in the lottery in the first place.

Now while I agree.

One of those PG was traded that night for future pick.

One is still in Europe and one isn't tbh...a quality PG.

They made some dumb picks yes...but tbh...everyone slams him for this PG thing and its not as though the dude isn't trying.

He made a smart trade to get Beasley...and he got a good asset in Randolph.

He has some good assets now that he can move for vet players if he wants.

Particularly now that Beasley has a season of decent production behind him & Randolph playing ok in Love's absence.

Part of the lol from that was just how crazy it was at the time to take 2 point guards with back to back picks (high ones as well). Then when he took Lawson, it just took it to another level (although as you said though, it was traded away).

Another source of humour is the potential fact that (depending on how Rubio pans out), the PG that he traded away may end up being the best of the lot.

Tbh I don't see why he should be complaining since he only dropped one spot. Not as bad as in the 2007 draft lottery when the Grizzlies (who had the highest chance to land No.1 and prime position to land either Durant or Oden) dropped all the way to 4th.

Oh I totally agree with that point.

As Ridders said, it was the cumulative impact of taking two point guards in the top 10, then another later in the draft. And Lawson has proven to be the best of the bunch (and I believe will still be better than Rubio).

I will give him credit for Beasley and half-credit for Randolph - until he performs consistently, he's just another Eddie Griffin (RIP). And a handful of games while K-Love was injured isn't consistent.

And let's face it, two semi-ok moves doesn't really compare to his litany of head-scratching to terrible moves.

Will be interesting to see how far Kyle Singler falls...

He was consensus top 5-10 last year...now he is barely rating a mention after an ordinary year.

And just found this:

http://www.nba.com/history/draft_top13.html

Just made me think again....WTF were the Pistons thinking in 2003. Even more so.

Passing on Carmelo, Bosh, Wade - Doesn't matter anything Kahn does...nothing will rival that..

Well aside from Kwame Brown at #1 instead of Tyson Chandler or Pau Gasol

Wow...I actually never realised that Kobe fell to #13 in 1996.

Sheesh let it go dude......but you did say SG originally ;-)

I can see him as a scoring guard off the bench a la Ben Gordon. But he will never start at the 2.

HAHA Nah I have...I was just surprised man.

And that is an AWESOME comparison.

Pistons won the championship that year and made it to the finals again in 05, pretty vindicated decision imo. Nothing will ever beat the Blazers passing on Michael Jordan in the '84 draft and even dumber were the Pacers for trading that pick away.

Chad Ford has put together one on Insider - it isn't free but he suggests the lottery picks as:

1. Irving
2. Williams
3. Knight
4. Kanter
5. Valanciunas
6. Leonard
7. Walker
8. Tristan Thompson
9. Biyombo
10. Burks
11. Vesely
12. Singleton
13. Fredette
14. Marcus Morris

Basically at this stage, everyone's mock is going to be different until the workouts start.
