Thought I'd start a thread for all the news and notes for the upcoming off-season. Get things started with a nice little whinge from Hedo....

Turkoglu - I Do Not Want To Go Back To Toronto

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5232738

Interesting - maybe a trade with Orlando might come along.....VC returns to his spiritual home for Turkoglu and Reggie Evans?!

Vince going back to Toronto would be fun.

Will be interesting to see what Toronto do with Bosh this off-season. I think it's almost certain that he's leaving, probably via S&T.

Rumours of an Anthony Randolph trade, possibly with the Timberwolves.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5248951

I was just thinking to myself the other week how awesome would it be to see Kevin Love on that Golden State squad - a rebounding, floor-spacing big who would thrive on an up-tempo squad. Whilst there's no mention of Love in that article, surely for a player of Randolph's enormous potential the Warriors would demand a pretty good player in return. The Wolves would probably prefer to keep Love and trade Jefferson but they need to break those two up.

Having said all that, an Ellis, Curry, Maggette, Randolph, Love starting 5 would be fun to watch (at least offensively!).

It's disappointing that A. Randolph hasn't worked out in GS yet. You'd think it would be a perfect system for him.

T-Wolves No.4 pick for A. Randolph. Who says no first?

The T-Wolves! Randolph is not worth the 4th pick

The Nets have rejected a trade offer from the Heat that would have sent forward Michael Beasley to New Jersey for guard Keyon Dooling, according to ESPN's Ryen Russillo. Miami doesn't consider Beasley a part of their future anymore and is even looking at lopsided trades in an effort to clear additional cap space.

KEYON FREAKING DOOLING?!?! Surely they can get better value. I also can't believe the nets would say no. Must be bullsh*t... Maybe the heat put this out there to see what offers they could get

He started last year pretty well from memory, but suffered a season ending injury. He just needs more game time to develop, but he can't shoot a lick so Nellie won't give him as much burn.

I can't imagine the Wolves giving up the 4th pick for him when they've got Love & Jefferson and desperately need a big time scorer on the wing. Warriors on the other hand would be pretty thrilled to get the 4th pick to go with their 6th pick, especially considering they've still got Brandan Wright to develop (who was injured last year himself) at the 4. There's some serious potential on that Warriors squad, just need to get rid of Ellis for a legit 2-guard, and get a power player in the post - Randolph, Wright, Tolliver, Biedrins are all too thin to bang in there full-time, but only Tolliver has range from further than 10-feet from the basket. Hello DeMarcus Cousins......

That can't be true! Wow.

No.2 pick in the draft a couple of years ago and now a team won't even be willing to give up freakin Dooling for him.

I'm speechless.

And Beasley for Dooling - WHAT? Why would the Nets say no to that - a perfect compliment to Lopez I would have thought? Draft a wing with their 3rd pick and they've got a good little nucleus going themselves.

Surely the Heat would only consider that if they knew they were keeping Wade and were definitely getting another star like Bosh.

You might have something there. Cousins is probably a big reason for why the Warriors want to move up from the 6th pick. You'd think Demarcus would be available at No.4 with Wall, Turner and Favours projected as the Top 3.

Maybe they think that Beasley would mess with Yi?

It's still staggering though. I mean for a rebuilding team I would have thought an asset like Beasley would be a nice piece to have. Talk about a major slap in the face for him.

And to think I thought Beasley would be better than Rose...

A lot of people already have Cousins slipping to the Warriors at 6 - but if they've got their sights on him, yes it makes sense to move up to be certain.

Having said that, I hope it works out better than the last time Nellie had a talented big man at the Warriors (C-Webb)....

The Beasley thing was mentioned on a radio show with the "a source said" line.....so it could be false. But reading into it, if the Heat clear him for virtually nothing, they could potentially sign two max free agents (or close to max) to play with Wade. So in a way, it makes sense to get rid of him for nothing, but man, what a waste of a 2nd pick only two years removed.

And if I'm the Nets, I wouldn't care about messing with Yi - he's sh*t and will always be sh*t.

I saw a theory that sending Beasley to the nets would sabotage them in the free agency as Wade apparently has a very low opinion of him. I'd say the heat would have asked for the number 3 pick also but that just hasn't been reported.

I have read the 76ers are tossing up between trading the pick with Brand, Turner, Favors and Cousins. If we take Cousins I'll be on suicide watch. If we could trade down and lose Brand while getting a GOOD 2 and another lotto pick maybe but I doubt we make that deal. I have no interest in trading #2 and Brand for #4 and Al Jeff. If we had to trade down to 4 or 5 I could live with taking Cousins but just not at #2.

Wall will go one, 76ers SHOULD take Turner and I think Favors ends up in NJ which is a good fit next to Lopez. I don't know where Cousins fits.. I don't like him at the wolves unless they can move Al Jeff(Who he compares so similar with) and even then I don't really like the fit with Love, though it would be an upgrade long term if he panned out. The Wolves really need a solid wing(Turner would have been perfect).. Sac town are in love with Hawes and Thompson aren't they? I guess they should gamble on Cousins at 5.. I think Cousins is such a risk and just seems like more Eddy Curry then Al Jeff. I don't know how he would go with the Warriors either given how they play but there is no way he lasts till the Pistons at 7 who would be all over him like a rash. If I was the Warriors I would take the risk on waiting for him at 6 where he is great value given the potential. I'd be wary trading up but it depends on how in love they are...

A lot of people don't think Turner, Iggy and Jrue can't play together on offense. I think Philly should give it a try because that is an amazing back 3 for defense. Also at the deadline we were rumoured to be talking about a Iggy/Stoudemire trade. Imagine a Jrue, Turner, Young, Stoudemire line up... It would be fun to watch. Even if Turner doesn't fit we can move Young or Iggy now and realistically we will still be a lotto team again next year so we can still nab another big given Speights doesn't look like becoming what he could.

And looking like current Celtics assistant Tom Thibodeau will be the Bulls' next coach. Apparently won't be announced officially until after the Finals.
