Yeah, Lenny. He was player-coach of the Sonics around 68, went to the Cavs as a plyer only, then 1 year as player-coach in Portland in 74. He then coached the Blazers in Bill Walton's first 2 seasons, when Walton was hurt a lot. He was fired, Jack Ramsay took over and won the title in 77. Lenny became coach of the Sonics again, and coached them to the finals in 78 and the championship in 79.

Since Seattle he has coached Cleveland, Atlanta, Toronto and now the Knicks, though maybe not for long.

OK, this is harder:

the conference finalists, without looking it up

90 - Bulls and Suns
91 - Pistons and Blazers
92 - Knicks and Jazz (a guess)
93 - Knicks and Spurs

Not sure about those western teams, pretty sure about the eastern ones.

What other African-American coaches have won the title? There are 3 I believe.

there would be none in the 80s (apart from KC)
they would all be 60s and 70s coaches. Off the top of my head ( i dont want to google as that would be "cheating" i have NFI

One we've already mentioned, one was one of the all time great players who finished as a player-coach, the 3rd won in a big upset in 75.

Sorry Charlie, I'm old. I'll try to stick to 80s and 90s after this.

Yep. Al Attles was considered one of the best fighters in the league when he played in the 60s. A good friend of Wilt Chamberlain.

You're good, Charlie. Go ahead if you have one.

in the 1990 NBA finals a particular blazers player hit a 3 pointer 1/2 sec too late that would have sent that game into OT.
Name the player
Whch game was it

Gee, I can't remember for sure. I saw every game, with the Pistons winning 3 straight in Portland after splitting 2 in the Palace.

I don't think it was Drexler or Kersey - I'll guess Terry Porter. Or was it Drazen Petrovich?

I had to go look it up - it was backup guard Danny Young in game 4. Pistons backup guard Gerald Henderson had hit a layup with 1.5 seconds to go, to put Detroit up by 3, but really he should have dribbled out the clock instead of scoring. By scoring he stopped the clock and gave the Blazers a chance to tie, which they almost did.
