hmmm winners of the 80s were

Paul Whitehead Lakers
Bill Fitch Boston
KC Jones Boston
Pat Riley Lakers
Billy Cunningham 76ers
Chuck Daley Pistons

i dont recall any of those guys getting to the finals again (riley with the knicks vs rockets) with different clubs in later yrs, let alone coaching against their old club in the finals

Paul Westhead (not the answer, just correcting the name.) The answer to my question is on your list - he coached the one other team that made the finals in the 80s besides Lakers/Celtics/Sixers/Pistons.

damn...how could i forget #-o

Bill Fitch (coach with the most losses in NBA history) coached the celtics vs the Rockets in 81
and then reversed that in 86

good question steve...very good

my question :

what numbers did Stacey augmon and greg anthony wear when they first came to the nba in 1991/2 and why did they choose that number

#2 - It represented their college coach Jerry Tarkanian somehow - his college number I think. Didn't Larry Johnson also wear #2? What a talented team UNLV had with those guys.

Come to think of it, these were the only coaches who appeared in the finals in the 80s, exept for one other - who was it?

Yep - not sure if he's still an assistant with the Mavs, but he has coached a long time in the NBA. Also was China's coach in the recent Olympics.

Your go, Charlie.

tricky question perhaps...

who were the 5 bulls players on the court when chicago had its last offensive set vs the suns in game 6 nba finals 1993. (you know when "that player" hit that "famous" 3 pointer)

note : everyone of those players touched the ball in that last offensive play with 14.1 secs left on the clock.

I can't remember that much detail, but I'll guess Paxson, Jordan, Pippen, Grant and Cartwright. Probably too obvious to pick the starters though.

hmmm you went ok.
Paxson, jordan, pippen, grant are correct...but there is one more. He has something in common with the man that said "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind"

BJ Armstrong. I guess they wanted all shooters on the floor, so they had BJ on instead of a center.

Which player played against the Bulls in the Finals, 2 years in a row, playing for 2 different teams?

Horace grant played center, but it was pippen and grant who set it up. Pippen put a move on at the 3 point line, gave it to Grant...the suns collapsed on him and he threw it to Paxson. The rest is history as they say.

danny ainge
Portland 1991/92
Phoenix 92/93

both times lost to the bulls in 6 games

Yeah, Ainge played pretty well in both series. I remember on game for portland, when Drexler fouled out, and Ainge kind of led the team to a win, in OT I think.

yeah that was game 2 1992 where he scored an NBA finals record of 9 points in an over time period.

who hit the clutch 3 pointer for the Rockets (2 win the game) in the playoff game vs the jazz in 1996/7
