Try 4 years ago Start. :p

Possibly even 7 years ago if you count Raiders fans in 2004.

If there is a coaching change it's going to be early in the season if the Cowboys are on the wrong side of the W/L column. I'd say they will re-evaluate week six and make the call then. With that said, if they turn up like they did last night over the next couple of weeks it may well be sooner.

A poor attitude on both sides of the ball from all at the Cowboys last night. Attitude isn't something lost or gained on game day and the great sides don't just turn it on/off - they apply it in everything they do. I am concerned for the Cowboys. There is rumoured unrest up there and as they say, where there is smoke, there is fire. I don't see Henry holding on for the season.

The Cowboys need to change the culture of the club. Theres something wrong with that place. I think thats why Tatey and Dallas Johnson were brought in.

If the attitude and application doesn't change i think he will be gone by round 5. Maybe a decision based on performances than actual results though, if they put in good efforts in close games over the next 3 rounds i expect he will survive longer.

Whilst I ain't in the Elliot debate, I certainly would not have punted him. Some would, not I. Elliot is a very good coach and he proved as much again on Friday night in having his bounce back from round one. Look at the whole 2010 season FFS - most had Penrith challenging for the spoon in the pre-season. Elliot is an easy target as he is one of the more opinionated coaches in the game. He had Canberra making finals series when again, most had his sides challenging for the spoon.

Canberra, now Penrith, were a bit of a rabble and Elliot lays a strong platform in which to build. It takes some time, though the success will come. Some of the "faithful" out west are way off in their assessment of Elliot. Most clubs would have him in a heartbeat. I'd say NQ would love him right about now.

Elliott built a career on telling everyone canberra werent talented enough and that making semi finals is all we could achieve. Absolute garbage, he had the talent there to be a genuine top 4 threat every year
and at penrith he's taken a team with a tremendous junior base and qualified for the finals once in 4 years.

Fun Elliott Fact: He has NEVER coached a winning semi final team, he's about 0-7 in games that count.

Worst coach in the game... penrith shoould punt him asap

I think he'll see out the season. I'm not a fan of getting rid of coaches when there aren't any better alternatives out there. And we can't really afford another year lost in the wilderness like after Murray was sacked.

I think Henry is a good coach, but I'm really struggling to keep that mindset. He needs to stop being loyal to players who have underperformed for years.

Bani needs to go, never to return to first grade. Tamou needs to be told he's on thin ice, and one more defensive display like that will see him busted down to QLD Cup. Our dummy halves were outplayed by Hilder and Rogers - FFS! - so I'd like to see Amos and Segeyaro given a go there.

I'd even go so far as to say Thurston could use a week in Qld Cup. His kicking game was absolutely diabolical.

Tupou needs to work out how to run lines and how to hold onto the ball. His future is definitely in the second row.

1. Where are these Elliot quotes? Underselling a team isn't a "new" tactic in the coaches handbook.

2. Top four threat with that Canberra team he had? Don't think so. Each to their own. Your bias might be coming through on that claim.

3. I don't give two hoots as to what he did in his first two seasons at Penrith with or without his tremendous junior base - he has improved the side each season (well he did, finals or not - reminder, the three year run prior to Elliot was 10th, 12th, 16th - they were getting worse) and now in his fourth year, he will come under the micro-scope. How many Penrith juniors are in his team now out of curiosity? The first two years of Elliot was again, building a platform, identifying who could help him in the future (Gordon, Coote etc) and who he needed ASAP (Petero).

4. Worst coach in the game - rubbish.

Change of coach will not change the attitude of a club who just seem to not turn up most weeks.

The players sem happy to cash their cheques and faff about.

Jonson and Scott the exceptions

Yes it would if the poor attitude stems from the fact their is an issue with coaching and playing staff. A new coach, new ideas, fresh attitude and full of enthusiasm = change in attitude by players. IF that is indeed the issue that is.

I think his whole career rides on whether Michael Bani is named next week.
