New captain discussion

I'm surprised this doesn't have a thread yet. Who do you think will be the new captain. Who do you think SHOULD be the new captain?

I'm going with Corey Parker.

As much as I'm a Hodges fan, I think appointing him as captain would almost certainly result in him getting injured (just because he doesn't need any more encouragement LOL).

The extra weight of an armband will surely cause his shoulder to break.

My pick is Parker who is the clear choice I believe. Can't believe Hodges is front runner.

I don't think there is any obvious candidate for the Broncos.

Going on the basis of inspirational on-field performances then it's Parker hands down.

I think guys like Glenn and Macca need to get the runs on the board on the field before they are spoken about as captains. There is a spot for a guy like Glenn in the team but he needs to build on his 2014 and I have honestly never really rated Macca that highly. He has some good games every now and again and very few poor ones but I don't think he is a good enough player to be captain material. Actually I hope that Parcell gets a chance to put some pressure on him in 2015.

I think whoever gets it now is just holding out for when Ben Hunt is ready.

The captain they choose will only be holding down Ben Hunt's spot. I'd imagine he is currently front runner to lead the team from around 2017.

Was listening to the radio yesterday morning and they were having a chat with Parkers wife. Found it interesting that she said people shouldn't rule out McCullough or Hunt being named captain.

I'd be pretty disappointed if Macca was named captain any time soon. I don't rate him that highly as a player.

Hunt on the other hand is a potential future superstar. But even then it would make sense for him to take over as the next captain after Parker/Hodges/Thaiday (although I hope the captain isnt Thaiday)

I agree with you. The best line of succession I can see is Parker to be named captain now with Ben Hunt to take over when he retires.

Macca to be replaced as soon as someone with some talent in the position shows up.

Me - I personally would appoint Corey Parker, but I have a feeling Bennett will be giving it to Thaiday.

If Hunt is going to be our future captain, do it now. Do it while he has Thaiday, Parker, Hodges and to a lesser extent Glenn around who have all captained the side to help him grow into the role.

You don't think he might struggle inspiring and taking a senior role towards the likes of Thaiday, Parker & Hodges?

Would take a mental giant to overcome that kind of pressure.
