Uninspiring imo. Bit too many cliched shots of run-down, working class images. Doesnt seem to fit where the game is atm and where its going.

It's not too bad but doesn't it sort of present rugby league as a sport that is in decline? I would have liked to see some packed stadiums with people waving banners and flags, in colour.

I reckon if they were going for the old image, show some old highlights. I don't see it attracting too many new viewers.

Was pretty boring in my opinion. Not really going to stand up to many repeat viewings either.

League advertising is easy, show lots of clips of tries, hits and fancy footwork to rock music.

Sydney-centric, sentimental, nonsense that paints the game as small, limited and stuck in the past. If it sells a few more subscriptions to old blokes who sat on the hill at Redfern 30 years ago I guess it's done a job but it doesn't inspire me or anyone else who has no connection to old Sydney grounds - which is the majority of people under the age of 30 and/or who live, you know, in the rest of the world.

It is better than the mixed code ad that foxtel are running.

Crouch...touch..pause....NRL?

Whoever came up with that is not a fan of any of the three codes covered.

I think its a great ad. Moves away from the hype. People are forever on about the olden days and then people whinge when a rustic theme comes along.

To me, its about acknowledging the roots of the game. Where we've come from. Where we're going is not a Bon Jovi song or a montage of lairs showing off to the cameras.

Keep is simple. Treat the game with respect. The rest will happen naturally.

Just IMO.

Geez that is going to get the 16 year olds excited! I guess the market research shows Fox subscribers are 50 years old + going by that ad?

PR I agree with you.

I am in my mid 50's and I like to see the old footage of grounds and games. It brings back some great memories. But I am not the future of this game.

If you want to promote the game today and in to the future then its all about what is happening now. Not what went on 30 or 40 years ago. Kids (who are the fans of the future) don't give a damn about what grounds looked like all those years ago or even who was playing then. Seeing that is not going to attract them to the game today.

Ask a 15 year old today who Clive Churchill, Graeme Langlands, Bob Fulton or even a more recent Wally Lewis was all you most likely will get in response is a shrug of the shoulders.

It's a pre-season ad. All the shots of empty ground are supposed to build anticipation, because we've seen what a full stadium looks like. I like it. It Romanticises the suburban areas, where a huge number of fans come from, and calls itself "our game."

It's good. There will be other ads with highlights.

It's only one part of the campaign. Makes a welcome change to the predictable highlight reel set to corporate rock. Wouldve cost shit all to make too.

Just before it finished... I was like this is really good, now for a fast forward to the current day , big crowds, new stadiums, kids cheering etc.

Then it ended, not sure what they were trying to achieve, there is no link to the modern product that I subscribe to.

Yeah thats the impression I got
Sort of....''the footys nearly here''...the grounds are empty but not for long

Appeals to Juniors too...did I see Mona Vale JRLFC or ???

The ad with the old grounds is fantastic, though the other new one with the players from each club trying to be cute and funny comes off as pretty cheap and lazy tbh.
