Phillips I was asking for a critique, instead you came up with a fairly witless four word outburst, doubtless mumbled through a couple of plaque-covered teeth. Address your problems mang, you're making a fool of yourself out here. Try some floss for a start.

Not sure why I clicked on this thread, but I noticed someone having copy protection issues on his CD due to this stupid protection they put on so thought I'd just mention something.

I've found that CD's sold in Australia with copy protection aren't copy protected if purchased through amazon.com
Some examples being Iron Maiden's 'Dance of Death' and the Megadeth re-releases.
Just thought I'd mention it for anyone still buying CD's legitmately and don't want to be forced into downloading CD's illegally due to record company stupidity.

I'd say that I confused Kanye West for Jay Wess.

They only gave it 9.5 on Pitchfork because of the Fiona Apple related production.

But, while not really liking Kayne West, people think quite highly of the album.

I've been...acquiring Late Registration all afternoon and I've got to say, I'm loving it. Someone said it had a 'smoother' sound than College Dropout, and I'd have to agree. You can feel the presence of Jon Brion's more offbeat personality in some of it too. This kid is so talented, though, his stuff kind of goes 'above' the usual fare from hip-hop/rap

lmfao!

Just downloaded that NBC bit. Gotta feel for Mike Myers. Kanye's right though, Bush is a bigot.

I don't like this album that much. Kanye's beats are nice but he isn't exactly RZA or DJ Premier imo. Plus as an MC I find him frustrating. Can someone point out exactly what point he is trying to make in his music career thus far? He obviously rates himself as some sort of hip-hop saviour, but I just don't think his whole "I should be rapping about something deeper....but here's another song about hoes and diamonds" schtick is as clever as he thinks it is.

I'm sorry.

Yeah its true man, lyrically he is less than profund, and this becomes increasingly obvious with each listen. But I do rate his beats highly, and I do consider him up there with Premier and Bobby Diggs (which reminds me - need to start another thread). Don't be sorry though mang, we still homies.

...just further to that, I should add some input from Mr West: "Damn 'ye it'd be stupid to diss you/Even your superficial raps are super-official"

Lyrically, Kanye is mud. Beat wise, he is the best at the moment, besides the legends (Dre, Premier, RZA). He sh*ts over Swishahouse and Scott Stprch imo. However, I would have Stoupe The Enemy Of Mankind over Kanye anyday.

I got my mate to download it when it leaked...was dying to get on here and talk to you about it, but i couldnt make it...but hey I'm on my way home.

My thoughts:

Definitely better than the first one, production going in a new fresh direction in some parts, while sticking to Kanye's original soul sampling in other parts. Tight guest spots, especially from Paul, Jigga & Nas.

Fav tracks:

1. Drive Slow
2. We Major
3. Diamonds remix
4. Addiction
5. Hey Mama

I'd put it up there in the top 3 albums of the year.

1. Young Jeezy - Let's get it thug motivation 101.
2. Lil Flip n Z-Ro - Kings of tha south
3. Kanye West - late registration
4. Paul Wall - People's champ
5. Common - Be

Just awaiting Chamillionaire's "the sound of revenge"
