Got the new album - Crack the Skye today.

Absolutely mind numbing. Less metal - more Pink Floyd. Totally gone prog metal with this one and I love it!

Last track is 13 mins long for f**ks sake!

Track 4 - The Czar is absolutely epic.

i still to this day do not understand the fuss over Mastodon, I listen to a variety of metal styles, but I just cannot stand the music these guys put out........

each to their own. i too listen to many different styles of metal and heavy music and I would rate Mastodon as the best metal band this decade. IMO.

i don't think there is much of a fuss to be honest. most people i know have never heard of em unfortunately.
