Only in our wildest dreamsBurns to me is more is like Grahame Wynn & Scott Gourley type and hopefully he can emulate them this year.
if only we had Gourley & Wynn at their best in our starting line up

Gourley & Wynn could be also be very poor at different times especially with simple handling mistakes and a missed tackle but in the other hand bust teams wide open and set up support players numerous times on a game.Only in our wildest dreams

Add in Barnhill and Brad McKay then you are really cooking with gas.
Both didn’t mind a bludge on the blind sideGourley & Wynn could be also be very poor at different times especially with simple handling mistakes and a missed tackle but in the other hand bust teams wide open and set up support players numerous times on a game.
I see more potential if that in Burns than I could ever see in Ford.
Barney more tradesman like but highly efficient.
GarethLet’s go the whole hog fella’s and throw in Jeremy Smith and Neville ‘ bury em in the turf ‘ Costigan .

Like the time at Kogarah when the play the ball was 50 metres back and Wynn was still downfield. We made a break and low and behold who was there to support at the right time. Both didn’t mind a bludge on the blind side
Ford has loads of skill but not enough size and strength to be successful at NRL level. I'd say that's why he wasn't given the opportunities. It's unfortunate because a lot of people around the club raved about his ability. I hope he proves me wrong and does well.OT, I have enjoyed your recent postive posts attempting to combat the all-pervasive negativity towards the club on this Forum. However regarding Ford I would argue that his opportunities dried up just when he was beginning to show improvement. He also tried his guts out every week as capt in NSW Cup last year. I did actually think that the Dragons made him some sort of offer but he was no doubt looking for more and especially more opportunities. Right now he would be looking pretty good for our back row hole alongside Sua.
I am hopeful we will get more out of Josh Kerr this season - a bit like Ford he ran out of chances just when he was showing improvement, running hard and straight(one of the few forwards to do so) and declining offloads in favour of ball security. Back in NSW Cup he made some great offloads, at times putting Sloan away.
Any links to an article?Just read that Sione Katoa is in negotiations
Too much of an overkill Qld. We don’t wish to bludgeon the opposition to death - although Chooks ankle-cutters were absolute style - we merely wish to bury them in the turf .Gareth
lets go all the way and throw in sticks chook and kandos
but it would be soooooo good gareth to have opposition players shaking in their boots when they play usToo much of an overkill Qld. We don’t wish to bludgeon the opposition to death - although Chooks toe cutters were absolute style - but merely bury them in the turf .
O.K. Qld. you have convinced me , but there is one condition that must be met and that is to include Brian ‘ poppa ‘ Clay into the pack ( we can toss Walsh out ) .but it would be soooooo good gareth to have opposition players shaking in their boots when they play us
