An alternate way to look at it is that people that spend all day, every day with these players and are paid to recognise and nurture talent seem to have about as much of a clue as a bunch of keyboard commentators (myself included).

Hardly a ringing endorsement.
Perhaps @Old Timer should come out of retirement and head up recruitment!

To me, we really need to invest in a couple of solid fast backs and the same in the forwards. They need to be adept in defence as well. Flanagan is a defensive coach and he would know this of course. If Carr is kept as an assistant, he will continue to be the attacking coach and we have seen, from the four games that he has been the interim head coach, he has improved us in this regard.

Our problem with recruitment is that the Roosters will be having a massive clean out for next year and in saying this, we will have to compete against them for any decent backs and forwards and we know how that will end up. :(

I know the reality has been different in the past but I hope this attitude towards recruitment changes once Flanno arrives. We seem to have a defeatist attitude or an expectation to get lower quality players. I hope Flanno & others in recruitment go for high quality players & those who actually are excited about playing for the Dragons. We need a complete overhaul with top 30 recruitment imo. I think we're starting to see it with juniors in our pursuit of quality players like Loko Pasifika Tonga (who is a highly rated young gun) from outside our catchment areas.

If Flanagan is confirmed as our Head Coach, the dominos will soon fall into place.
Confirmation of the off field team that will support him would be first, followed by recruitment.
My view is Flanagan already knows most of the players on our books, and I suspect a lot of the better pathways players as well.
Finally Haran will be put in his place or preferably moved on altogether.
As far as recruitment goes, Flanagan has seen the Dragons play enough times in recent seasons to know where the roster needs fine tuning.

Amazing piece of spin from Hooper - 8 weeks since Griffin was sacked! Try 4 weeks. Shocking exaggeration just to put crap on Dragons' management. We are all quite capable of doing that without needing to exaggerate. Not saying Hooper's spray is not deserved but surely journalists have an obligation to state the correct facts.

Hooper on NRL360 tonight was bagging the Dragon's of how long it took from time they sacked Hook to appointing Flanagan. Carayiannis stuck up for the club by saying they were blindsided by Ryles so not all the club's fault. Hooper came back with better run clubs like the Chooks would not be caught out like that. He obviously forgot the time they had Bennett signed sealed and delivered until someone opened their gob and Bennett backed out and came to us, but that obviously doesn't fit the narrative of continuously putting the Dragon's down.

Flanno may have already started his recruitment for Saints a few months ago with the signing of the 2 Manly juniors and moving Woods from Saints to Manly. Or is it just coincidence? These 2 boys have size and by next year will be ready to rip in.

If Saints are serious about building the squad, they should throw the kitchen sink at Haas. He is the 1 man that will make a world of difference. He is the best prop and will be an Immortal in the future. Never seen anyone as good as this guy. If anyone can get him over to Saints it is Flanno. Jordan Riki is another gun at the Broncos.

If Saints signed Flanno ages ago, I have no doubt Sorensen would have been a Flanno signing.
