Unbelievable. Murdock Massila had potential as a up and comer. Journey man now as he never looks fit.
Again other clubs sign big names and we can only sign players on the cheap and hope they come good.
Would've rather they give an opportunity to another of the Dragon pups than this .
The majority of our signings are embarrassing to say the least
Is it due to Club instability , an amateur/ out of date BOD , poor Club standing , poor recruitment that we cant land Premiere signings , or all of the above ..
Thinking the latter ...
The Dogs are talking to Big Nelson , while we are luring Ben from NZ
Says a lot
Haran reads that the dogs are chasing the big guy ..so what does he do ????
Pick up the phone and call his Agent and make an inquiry Or just head back to the TAJ with fellow BODs and stick his nose back in the Buffet Trough
Again me thinks the latter
And so it goes on................

As a replacement for what turned out to be a virtually non-existent George Burgess, he could add something to the squad.
Think of the number of washed up players like Burgess that have joined us in the last 5 years or so who were just glad to make their pay off our club rather than actually being able to contribute to make us a successful team.

Even the 5/8 on 8 or 900k was allowed to get away with it for 3 seasons.

I too think despite being aged and a journey-man, BMM can at least contribute something in the short term which is better than the likes of Woods, Burgess, Alvaro and that Faamasuli dude or should I say 'dud'.

As always, here we are settling for less than we deserve...take what we can get at this point.

Not at all. BMM as much as he maybe unfit, too old or lazy or whatever has a go and trys to hurt not play "catch" in defence and "touch" in attack
Hope he proves me wrong. But this appears to be another fringe first grader signing who will probably play first grade all year, just like Sharon, because there isn’t anyone better on the team, and old Hook doesn’t want to give a young bloke a go.

But the salary cap is evening out the playing field. We chase journeymen while the Dogs still have cap space to chase Moses and Asofa on top of the players signed in the last year or so such as Burton, the Foxx, Kikau, Maloney, etc. To me it just goes to show how much we are overpaying some players although we are forced to spend 95% (?) of the salary cap annually.

Unless we strike it lucky with our crop of juniors that develop into solid first graders, we will find it very difficult to attract any stars. Alot of us bag the club for the mess it is in, but at least we have some attraction to it as fans. Apart from top dollars, what would attract a top quality player to come to us if they read the pasting our BOD and coaching staff get on this forum? I certainly wouldn't want to go anywhere near the club.

Nah mate…you think players read this forum and make their decision not to come? Mate…as an example, let’s say a top/ up and coming player has the chance to join the Dragons with the likes of BMM and Sharon in the team or the dogs with fox, Kikau, Maloney etc. in the team for the same money…who do you think he’d join? Which team would have more of a chance of him winning a comp and improving his game? Don’t blame the people on this forum for the dragon’s ineptitude, and their f**k ups that the whole world can see except for the dragon’s management

How do you know he hasnt picked up the phone or if the manager is any good he should be getting in contact with clubs to get the best deal for his client

Judging by our signings , compared to others we dont pick up the phone to many or we dip our toe in the water , make a token offer but always get beaten to the punch by the more influential , more professional and successfully run Clubs

It appears that the club is either not able to sign 4-5 top class players and pay top dollars for them because of constraints that they might have with the salary cap or they just don't want to and that's that. They don't appear to want "instant success" by getting rid of a dozen old floggers and using their money to buy those 4-5 expensive guys which is what the Dogs are planning to do.

They are probably of the belief that the youngsters coming through will one day be our saviour and with Hook gone, that could happen. I would prefer the instant success scenario though and bugger the future!!

Like most of these "journeymen" he has the ability but has shown to lack consistent application.

BMM can be a damaging runner that bends the line and has a good offload.

When he plays with energy he can turn a game but needs to show more consistent intensity.

As a replacement for what turned out to be a virtually non-existent George Burgess, he could add something to the squad.

Being 31, this could be a last chance opportunity for him to realise his potential.

I would prefer him to Joe Ofahengaue who imo turned out to be a (potentially more expensive) bullet well dodged a few years back...
TBH, we are only talking about this signing because it’s the off-season and we have nothing else to talk about.
BMM will be just another Burgess, Alvaro, Faamasuli that barely plays any first grade, takes his pay check then moves on or retires after a couple of years.

Time will tell.

He does have loads more (dare I say) "mongrel" than any of those others, at the very least...

If we dont sign any decent forwards he will be playing most games

I can only hope that the lack of big dollar signings leaves things open for the new coach to start afresh.
This is where you would expect Mr. Gordon , or the WIN Corporation , to provide the necessary funds to secure the services of a decent coach .

Unless that money is included in the salary cap , which I don’t believe it is , then the powers to be should be moving heaven and earth to lobby them for for the money.

Offer the prospective individual a deal he cannot refuse - $ 800k per season and throw in a life-time membership of the Dragons !

How could anyone refuse such a tempting offer ? ? ? 🤔

I did not realize that , however it certainly would not surprise me . Uncle Nick more than likely proposed the idea himself on the condition that it did not apply to the rorters .

Thank you for your seasons greetings jak and the very best to yourself and your lovely wife over the festive season .🎅🏻
