New recruits for 2023

I am sorry BLM but being patient is a fine trait but when you see incompetence and laziness year after year I get very disillusioned. We have waited any numbers of years being patient and I could accept that if there were signs that we are building a team. In this offseason we have let numerous seasoned first grade players leave, including Simms without having any plan or strategy to replace them. In fact the quality of our first grade side and depth of players is substantially less than last season and we can only reasonably forsee that we will finish much lower on the table. How is that scenario seen as building for the furutre and having a plan in place so that fans can be patient in seeing improvement from year to year...unfortunately I can realistically see us fading away to the bottom of the competition in even worse shape than when McGregor was in charge. We have n o chance in the side world of challenging for a semi final spot this coming season or several seasons ahead.....my patience has worn out.
I agree with your comments, the way things are looking, I can see the side finishing about 12th place. I would like to be proven wrong.

Billy Burns will be in the 17 come round 1. He was starting to hit some good form late in the year.
Burns is a player on the up. Makes an impact when he is on the field with a little more dynamism and utility value in his game than the average second rower. Happy to see a lot more of him 2023. One player I do credit Hook for bring over and promoting.

I think that is fair reflection of where we will finish this year unless some KEY signings happen
We certainly wont be last
I think everyone is being overly optimistic thinking we’ll finish around 12th…..for me with the current squad 12th would be a massive overachievement

12th or worse… we all seem to be thinking we’ll be going backwards from last season…. not really acceptable or building for the future yet everyone seems content with that scenario

All I can say is that if the Dragons are to finish 12th or thereabouts then they had better be wholly committed to their games in both defence and attack .

Griffin must also use every means at his disposal to get the very best out of his players and not be afraid to use the axe when necessary .

But you should be content. You think 12th is a massive overachievement
No one is happy with 12th. Just being realistic to where we think we will finish which is something akin to last year or therabouts based on our likely available squad up to now.

We still potentially have 6 top 30 spots available given that Amone and Ransey may not play in 2023.

In my opinion, we still need two props who have superior skills to any of our current props. In addition, we still also need an edge forward who is at least a bookend to Su'A. So that is, Tree top-line forwards at approximately 2m and three juniors with potential at a total price of 1m.

Is our recruitment staff up to this?

Hard to say Poss.
Not sure if that many top line forwards are available.
Recruitment left with their dicks in hand. Missed the boat, again. Sheens & Gould seemed tobe right on top of it though.

I wonder why we didn't go after Euan Aitken?

After all when he was here almost everyone said he wasn't a centre he was actually a back rower and he made that transition at the Warriors.

We could have got him to cover the edge and if we need a stop gap centre in a game then he could have filled that role.

Another signing we missed out on and he has now strengthened the ranks of the ever improving Knights

Come back Euan all is forgiven we just didn't believe in you enough.

PS: Where the f**k is the pink text button.
