Yes happy New Year to you too NRL Drgaons releasing this on 1/1/23
There you go DD.. they listened to you! ;)
Spot on. We might get a couple more signings confirmed before the crew get back to the pre-season grind again next week now that 2023 has started.

Yeah the second row situation is a real head scratcher isn't it? I'm guessing they have gone for a few but not been successful. In saying that there is time left and loads of salary cap to spend so maybe we can convince a heavy hitter to join. It might be that we have to sign players for the following year though if the good ones are all under contract.
I'm ever the optimist and hoping like hell Fui gets some starts and rekindles the kind of earth shattering tackling he started doing at the beginning of last season before they changed the rules on him. Him, Sua, and JDB hitting anyone that gets past our front rowers. Yes please.
Fui ? You mean where the changed to rule where you can't know a bloke's head off?

So true. The general vibe out of this club has a real stench about it and seems the NRL are on board.

Look at the draw

Round 1 - Bye. Which club in it's right mind would want the bye round 1, it's a real slap in the face
Round 2 - Titans 6:15pm Sunday. Worst time slot of the round and one of our Kogarah home games
Round 3 - Broncos 7:25pm Saturday. To be fair this slot is purely for the Qld audience
Round 4 - Sharks 6:15pm Sunday. Local derby, should be prime time.......but. Another Kogarah home game shafted

Throw in another Sunday 6:15pm game later in the season and a couple of 6pm Friday games. One of the Fridays again at Kogarah against the Roosters. Poor people who paid up for Kogarah only membership. The club should be lowering Kogarah membership costs on the back of the shambolic draw
If you can't get to a game at 6:15PM on a Sunday, you are not trying.

Conceded 48 v Eels.
56 v Chooks .
Almost 50 v Storm.
Lost 2 to sharks and Cowboys.
We only had Ben Hunt out v the broncs in Bris when they had half a team out.
Dont know how we bt the tigers in the 2nd last game.
You can say the Chooks were unlucky to lose to us on Anzac Day.
Jeff your comments were we could not compete with any decent teams so will you admit you were wrong every club could say they were unlucky in some matches . So Rorters and Souffs dont count,

Looking at the end of 2022, Dragons seemed getting better. Close games against Canberra and Cronulla where bounce of balls went against us. For me, what we lacked at the beginning of the year was a decent fullback. Sloan's defense was very bad and even in the last game as a winger against Broncs, his defense had not improved. Mbye was just a fill gap. Once Ramsey graduated to first grade fullback position, Dragons became competitive again.

For 2023, with Ramsey not well, Dragons should be on the lookout for a decent fullback. Sloan should be tried as a winger.

Agree with all that except last sentence. We dont need a decent fullback we have them now.
I look how Canberra persisted with Savage when his defence and taking high ball is sus but is an excitement machine.
The difference was he tried to show committment when Sloane at times look non-committal as he seemed to be kicking stones. Fix that and his mental attitude and is an exciting fullback who is better than Dufty and will try and bust the line. When fit though he has great competition in Ramsay who if by chance can be fit for R1? deserves the first crack. If not it is up to Sloane to keep Ramsay as our winger when his back.
We need to exhaust this avenue firstly and if it does not work then set up 24.

Give Sloane a crack in the trials. See if he's up for it.

I feel sorry for poor Ramsey. But on a positive side, Sloan gets months of training and development. I hope a more positive support from the coaches, some extra gym work and lots of positional and communication training and his natural skill will come to the fore.

I am actually excited what bud and sloany will do this season.

my backline for 2023...
Sloane, hell be a superstar this season
Matty Feagai, will excel more and more
Suli, monster
Lomax, no brainer
Stewart, Treigh, watch him go! a player, with Speed and getting better with d, Rav too slow we need full players like Feagai on the wing
Sullivan if Jnrs out, no brainer
Hunt, gun, still got it in spades

if the grunt up front improves and it will with Masila the gorilla here now , these fast playing backs will CARVE!

Love it!

(but Rav is a beast and we need him, both in defence and in attack)

Often wondered how Rav would go in the forwards - 2nd row for instance . I realize that it is completely foreign to him however his size and bulk and sheer enthusiasm would not go astray . 🤔
Tempting isn't it? But it's a no for me. Has been so effective and scored so many tries I'm not sure I'd change it at his age.
I'm really hoping the new coaches can help him and Fui adapt their tackling style to this years interpretation of high tackle rules. If so then they could both be massive for us.

Word,
yes you would hope our coaches can work on their deficiencies and get results , and coach some defence and attack into the entire squad ,,,,,,,,,,,, been missing for a few years

We have a very competent attacking coach now - let’s see what transpires
Really?. Hope you are right.
People used to say that about Matt Head.
How do you know, he has coached Q-Cup level only in recent times at best.
