And how long did easts take to dump stuart after he won them their first comp in 30 odd years ? The comp was great and that run from Brisbane onwards was something else. A fairytale comp from obscurity playing some fantasy football that even the neutrals adored. But since then results, recruitment, retrenchment etc have been diabolical and questions have to be asked. The 2005 success doesn't buy sheens or noyce or any of them a carte blanche to continually fail ad infinitum

Just calm down. If he's as bad as you say he'll be gone by the end of the season. I reckon he'll be gone no matter where we finish. The only problem I have is that I don't want Roycie to replace him.

I'm disappointed too with the way we've gone since 2005.

But I still have the season DVD, the GF DVD and the tickets to look at to make me feel better. ;)

Back in 69--the tigers signed Leo Nosworthy to a five year contact on the stength of his title win. The next four years were shockers. You think history would tell you somthing. The club is reluctant to sign players to long deals in fear of form slumps but they dont worry about the most important bloke the coach.

:) Nothing wrong when I was growing up in the area.

But like the rest of the CC it has gone to sh*t with the push for expansion of the area over the last 15 years or so

No not really

But in the Balmain area when we pack our suitcases it's to take our kids on holidays. And we actually put our kids on the plane, not in the cases. Revolutionary

Atleast they have finally stopped bagging out the Macarthur area now :)

no because that's actually warranted.

I've lived in the Western Suburbs (few years) and the Central Coast (for 20 odd years) and the coast (well my region atleast) is gods country in comparision to most parts of sydney.

Central Coast has no pulse for mine. No heart.

It is very cruisy and relaxing and a prime mosquito breeding ground but it is not my scene at all.

Oh and for the record Mcarthur region no longer exists. It is the County Of Eronious Gunt"

Not enough drive-through KFC's on the CC for your liking perhaps, Smeg?

Not quite the reason.

It is all about preference. CC is like Gold Coast without the theme parks and nightclubs. All very pretty and maybe a weekender but boring as bat sh*t.

For me it was ruined by the mass migration north in the early 90's. Bloody Darryl Eastlake encouraged every Houso borderline gimp in Roseghetto that they could afford the life on the Central Coast.

The construction of Westfield Tuggerah along with the further extension of Erina Fair was the final nail on the coffin from quaint beach side communities to gronkville on a shoestring budget

No different to a lot of parts of Sydney then - minus the crime rate, traffic congestion, in a cleaner, prettier setting. Can't really blame people for chosing to spend their 450K on a brick home minutes from Shelley Beach (for instance), as opposed to a cladded home meters from Granville station.

There are still areas on the CC which are still largely unaffected by urban expansion btw. I lived in Sydney til my late 20's (in over 15 locations) & have been on the Coast for 11 years now. For me, there's no comparison. I would not go back. Depends what your looking for really.

I guess that is it. I grew up about 300m from McMasters beach and while I enjoyed it the later I got into my teenage years the less opportunity for fun and a future were evident.

Very limited and my chosen career path had no options on the CC.

So moved away from the beach culture and after a brief foray in Melbourne (DUMP) I settled to a life in the quit acreage style.

But it is all about preference and what you are looking for.

Yeah, Im in the Shelley Beach area, and love the laid back coastal vibe around the place.

As for night life, its pretty lacking in terms of night clubs, but the pubs make up for that and id prefer a schooner and a band over a night club for of wankers and pill heads.

I just wish they'd hurry up and fix our roads, one major road to everywhere thats predomintley one way, shows a lack of foresight, no question.
