I completely agree !

The Tigers & Magpies aint won sh*t in years, then Sheens leads us to a premiership !

Yep it was all Sheens. Even though that year he wanted Sattler over Fulton, and Senter over Farah and Buetner over Marshall!...

Sheens the master won us a comp. It had absolutely nothing to do with one of the best 1,6,7,9 combos to ever play the game or the 100 + kilo monster on the wing terrorising defensive lines and busting 70m dropouts..no, no youre right it was Sheens.

Sign him up for life I say!

Hahah. Spot on mate. Robbie Farah in PL in round 1 with Ben Galea at hooker and Ben Reynolds as replacement hooker. Thought Fitzy's best position was 5/8. Etc Etc Etc. Those 16 weeks are the only decent weeks Sheens coached sides have had since 1996. Maybe we should elevate him to CEO/Coach/Financial Controller/Auditor in one. The man with the midas touch

For the millionth time.... how long are you prepared to tolerate sh*t results, sh*t defence, sh*t performance and the continual selection of sh*t players with the retort `he won us a comp in 2005'. We are now, for all intents and purposes, in season 2008

A lot of people would be content if we never won another game and just turned their thoughts to 2005 after every loss. Than their are others like myself who love to support a team that is up their with a big chance 8years out of ten. Rather than nevile no chance most years

They're the sort who wouldn't go out on a saturday night because they jagged a glamour from hugo's 2 years ago and they prefer to keep it in the wank bank and chase rotters at scruffys

FFS, it's the off-season, take a chill pill.

I never said I was happy with it but I will never, ever, ever forget 2005 and what that year did for me and that bloke was a major part of it.

I followed Wests.

Apart from a couple of years when Ryan was coach, the last couple of decades have been lean.

I learned to be patient many, many years ago and I was rewarded, you want to be rewarded every game.....

So we should be patient and pray for 1 good year every 20 ? Come on mate, it isn't unrealistic to expect a team to make the finals in the years after winning a comp. I don't expect us to win a comp every yr, but last year's comp was the lowest of all time. Melbourne were light years ahead of everyone else and there were 15 very sh*t teams (including Manly who truly embarrassed themselves in the GF). Sheens couldn't get us in the top half and that is a pathetic effort

I got used to my team losing.

Some fans get used to their team making the semis almost every year.

I prefer the latter.

meh, to each his own.

We went well with Warren Ryan there and made the semis a couple of times with him at the helm, but we never really looked like winning a comp. Same with the late 1970's.

I would take the Sheens years over both 100 times out of 100.

MOTH, I understand your view point (regarding Sheens) & even accept some of your stats as valid arguments for your POV. The mocking manner in which you choose to put your point across however, is like the ramblings of a petulant child. In the end, this takes credibility away from any valid points you make. That's my view, not that you'd give a sh*t.

That said, one major flaw in your "campaign" to oust Sheens is that you can't put forward a better alternative. Who is available to replace him? Inexperienced coaches such as Lam, Fairleigh, Dymock, & others are tied up to other clubs for the next couple of years at least. Besides, they are unknown quantities, regardless of any endorsement of their ability from "those in the know". You need just think back to Terry Lamb as a successful lower grade coach, anointed by none other than Gould as "the next big thing". He proved to be nothing short of disastrous.

As for ESL coaches, their track record once switching to the NRL is hardly commendable – Simmons, Elliot, Raper, McCrae (all successful in the ESL).

One last point - if Sheens were punted today, who would be the front runner to take over? Answer - Simmons. Be careful what you wish for.

3 semi finals series since superleague.
And the great man is still barely questioned.
His record in the modern era would stack up alongside some of the greats such as Economides, Simmons, Langmack, Raudonikis, Jones, Kemp & Kitinis

We have been banging the drum for years and the same things happen year after year. As I said before if we did not get the rub of the green in our end of season winning streaks in 2010 and 2011 they to would have ended just like this one.

It must be clear to even his biggest supporters its time to go and spin his magic at another club. Tim do the right thing and get on your bike

SC you are not wrong, in the runs of 2010 and 2011 there were some shocking performances where we were scraping in against some utter dogshit by 2 or 4 points (eg Newcastle at Leichhardt last season, Easts last season).

Our arse in those runs got the inept clown a stay of execution but this season must surely be the final straw
