from what I'm being told, the assistant coaches are on what the average wage, ie: us, are on. No other club offers this "bargain".
Fitzgibbon is on 300k as an assistant, others are on 150k, ours are on maybe half that.
We've always run on an oily rag, nothing has changed.

You’d need to double Bombers wage to even interest Mr Sheen. Think everyone needs to suck it up and realise our roster is unlikely to change between now and the start of the season....upside is most of these guys will be busting their balls to make an impression to earn a new contract either here or elsewhere.

Can only move players that

a) want to move on
b) clubs want to take on at the right price for both them and us.

Besides Mooney is back, well not sure when he actually starts but I'm confident we'll start making some moves, either with contracted players or recruitment for 2022.

Need to lock in a coach though. I'm sure we would have looked more appealing to Burton if we actually had a coach. Though the Barrett connection might have been too hard to overcome but they'll be other instance where no coach restricts us I'm sure.
Burton was never going anywhere except for with Barrett

But but we should have signed Neil Henry and Michael Hagen and McDermott

Get the three for $150k total

well if you believe the papers, McDermott was a real chance, so we must have been willing to pay him something decent unless he was willing to move to the other side of the world for minimum wage.

McDermott is broke and unemployed and owed money by the Wolfpack after Toronto went under (read an interview with him, he's in a real bad financial state). He was probably quite ready to move to Australia for low wage, but I'm sure he would've wanted some guarantee of an increase.

I know dosh is tight for us but we can't be an NRL club paying such a drastically lower wage to the rest of the comp for long unless we're prepared to lose a lot of guys ...which is fine as long as we have a steady stream of youth

So we can't get players for 2022 because they don't know who coach is
Tigers have no coach appointed for them either and players are signing there

Difference is there’s a much publicised extension for the Tigers coach imminent.
This is the coach that was rumored to be going to warriors.

And we know what imminent is for us that's 48 hours, considering the Tigers is as well a club that has done nothing for years

Whatever happened to the development turning us into the wealthiest clubs?? We've had to leave our home ground for 2 years and there's f**k all to show for it.

Great point, yes we should not have to pay bargain prices if we want a good coach we should have money to go the market and get him, or are we being lied to again.
For 2022 Wayne Bennett is on market under what we have been promised we should have money to get him

I don’t think we should be blowing that money on football operations at the moment anyway.

any lump sum that we’ve received should be invested into income producing assets.

The goal should be to make us a powerhouse for the next 100 years, not 10.
Exactly. Play the long game.
