All the more reason to put Dugan at FB and Moylan at 7. But nooo let's just think inside our boxes.

Given he's never played a FG game in the halves that would be madness.

Reynolds/Maloney is decent , add in Moylan and we have some attack.

Biggest thing about Reynolds & Maloney is we have 2 general play kickers , unlike Hodkinson doing it all. Or for that matter Pearce hogging the kicking.

You could have three if Coote was picked at Full-back.

I like Coote , really do. However I do think Moylan edges him in regards to attack which has to be the priority given our halves situation.

I'd strongly consider Coote for the utility role on the bench though.

On the plus side, when we lose the this next series, at least Daley will likely be thrown out the door. I think he has a 3 year contract, this being his 3rd year?

Can anyone please explain has this guy got the head coach job? He has never coached an NRL team, so why put him in charge of the origin team?

Lets have a look at his after football career:

2007-2010: media
2008-2012: coach of the country team - woopty do, 1 game a year
2010: after New South Wales suffered their fifth consecutive series defeat and their first Origin whitewash (a series lost 0–3) since 2000, he was sacked as the state's team selector.
2012: selected as head NSW origin coach

As far as i'm concerned, if we lose the series this year, he has to go. No more excuses of QLD have so many once in a lifetime players. On ya bike.

NSW wanted a "full time" Origin coach

I don't think he had been too bad overall. The main issue has been selections. And that has been a consistent theme for about 10 years

Yeah Laurie's "be like queensland" tactic has never been that great imo there are to many big differences for this to work for us, the most obvious one being that we don't have 3 or 4 future immortals to stay loyal too for 10 years. After 2014(when we got lucky in a couple of ways) he really should of started out building this team for the future, instead he stuck with Hokko and went back to pearce the two of which worked together to lose us a winnable game 1 and ruin any chance to win that series. The fact that he was still going on about loyalty after a 50 point flogging shows how ridiculous it is becoming. QLD made mass changes after getting flogged repeatedly and this set up their dominance.

One of his biggest flaws is losing a series and then saying i'm going to pick the same guys again. If i'm trying to get into the team and I hear him say that, why would I even bother?

Give players some motivation by picking the team on form. No use picking players because they have been there and done that. We want players that played their asses off to get there.

I honestly think he has cheapened the jersey a bit with some of his selections, Hoppa last year for example. The guy in no way, shape or form earned his jersey but he got picked because of Laurie's favourite line "he has been there before".

The one I wil never forget is 2014 game 3. Series is won by NSW and Brett Morris was out. Instead of blooding a young guy of which there were a few to pick from. Mansour was in great form at the time, Wighton was playing pretty good in the centres and was being tossed about Laurie goes with James f**king McManus who is the most bog average winger ever.

Dugans average and will get carved up in the centres

Has he even scored a try this year?

He ran over Sowie for the winner against us. I don't think he is average, he is just very one dimensional in attack. He runs the ball, he is good at making metres and breaking tackles but offensively not much else. Doesn't score much and doesn't create much and has a habit of being taken over the sideline, it happens to him almost weekly.

Then I don't see why he has to be a guarantee in the side. A player of his caliber should have atleast 6 tries to his name this far into the season but he only has 1 in 11 games. His speciality is his running game but where has that got him? An ineffective 150 metres a game? you wanna covert that into points surely

If he plays centre then our wingers won't be getting any ball either because he's a bit of a hog let's be honest. Coote Moylan and even Tedesco when fit are better options at fullback also

Hasn't got much to work with unfortunately. Saints are terrible. He could and should be used a lot more effectively in Origin. He's been a standout the past few series.
