Yeah agreed brother but I can't see him being picked over the incumbents (Gallen, Woods, Tamou, Klemmer) unless there's an injury haha

Wouldn't you rather him playing for the Sharks anyway? your team could potentially have a rough patch during the origin period with so many out

For sure bud, I want our entire team to not be selected. For once in my life I don't care about origin, I just want to go all out and go for the premiership.

Fifita has been underwhelming in the past in origin. His loping running style isn't suited to the quick defensive lines of origin, the defence is on him before he can get a head of steam up. I think he should be in the team but I can understand why he might not.

Why obsess over the forwards. Forwards has never been the problem. QLD win because their best players have been in the most important positions - 1 6 7 and 9. NSW haven't had leaders in the halves. Having a forward as captain is always a bad sign.

Why not?

1. Dugan
2. Mansour
3. Roberts
4. Jennings
5. Ferguson
6. Maloney
7. A. Reynolds
8. Gallen
9. Ennis
10. Woods
11. Cordner
12. G. Bird
13. Merrin
14. Klemmer
15. Lewis
16. Cartwright
17. Tamou

Not too many debutants... Lewis can fill in for backs, and Carttwright is a play-maker...

Fifita wont be picked cause the coaching staff dont trust him to behave in camp simple as that. The 2 times he has been picked he has played up and they cant be bothered putting up with nonsense anymore.

I'd be happy with that .. Ennis should be picked on form absolutely .. but I can't forgive him for giving away a penalty that vital time and I would rather Peats. Ennis before Farah though. Other than that OK.

It's not a bad side. I'd probably go with:

1. Moylan
2. Roberts
3. Jennings
4. Dugan
5. Ferguson
6. Maloney
7. A. Reynolds
8. Woods
9. Farah
10. Tamou
11. Merrin
12. Cartwright
13. Bird

14. Fifita
15. Klemmer
16. Gallen
17. Peachey

I'd really like to see Roberts make the side. He's a gamebreaker, and with Jennings' explosive acceleration, I think he would thrive.

In thinking about my side again, I'd probably drop Ferguson for Morris or Mansour. His decision making in defence has been really poor this year.

You gotta balance that with his attack. He deserves his spot based on past origin games. Although if Inglis is going to play centre he might get rolled over.

I don't disagree that you need to weigh up what a player can bring to a side. But I would also say with an enigmatic attacking player like Ferguson you need to assess how his defensive decision making is at the time of selection, as well as which players he is likely to defend against.

FB: Dugan
RW: Ferguson
RC: J Morris
LC: Jennings
LW: Hopoate
RH: Pearce
LH: Maloney
AH: Farah
P: Gallen
P: Woods
MF: Bird
RF: Scott
LF: Lewis

I: Tamou
I: Fifita
I: Klemmer
I: J Reynolds

Basically all the merkins who have already played before. Gallen, Farah & Bird are certainties so what's the point of blooding new guys, just to be disillusioned when these 3 try and do everything anyway.

I find it crazy people picking Dugan with our dogshite halves options. Coote or Moylan are an absolute necessity

This.

Dugan is great at making metres with kick returns and hit ups, but he doesn't create anything. NSW are going to need all the help they can get in scoring points, they need someone who can pass a ball.

All the more reason to put Dugan at FB and Moylan at 7. But nooo let's just think inside our boxes.

what does Daley see in Josh Jackson? That "leaked" team will get slaughtered.. However I dont have much confidence in any side Daley picks.
