Some of you blokes really need to pay closer attention to on which side of the field these blokes are stationed. You can't pick Bird and Hoffman or Graham to play second row. They're all left edge forwards.

The last one is the worst though. Watmough has not been an edge forward for about 5 years now. Lock and second row are not interchangeable. They're very different roles, which is why I dislike the concept of "backrower" - lock has more in common with prop than it does with second row, for example.

I could be wrong but I thought numbers 8, 10, 11 12 & 13 can play anywhere in the forwards.

Interesting to hear Farah say on stereo tonight that Lozz asked him if he thought Tedesco was ready for origin. Is say he is the front runner for now.

When looking at outside backs, Tedesco should be top of the pecking order outside of the regulars. I wouldn't mind shuffling the backline to get him into the FB position.

1. James Tedesco
2. Josh Morris
3. Michael Jennings
4. Josh Dugan
5. Blake Ferguson

Only player really out of position would be Josh Morris but I'm sure he could switch to wing without any problems.

Next guys in line would be James Roberts, Josh Mansour and Jack Wighton.

teddy is a tackle breaking machine which in origin where everything is faster and constantly have that bit less space than usual you need guys that can make it themselves. Pretty much all those mentioned above can pick up a ball flat flooted and on their day end up scoring at the other end after beating multiple tackles and pulling off something magical.

I would swap Dugan and Ferguson around.

Well in that case depending on form I would pick Roberts at centre and fergo on the wing, unless of course Dugan is killing it for the dragons. Fergo would not see enough ball playing outside Dugan for mine and Fergo is the real danger man out of the pair.

How would we accomodate Tedesco then?

Tedesco is at FB or not in the team depending on form.

Is Dugan a better centre than Roberts or Fergo? IMO no so they should both be ahead him in the pecking order for that position. If dugan wants to play centre then he has to earn it with good form, he shouldn't be an auto selection for mine.

Dropping Dugan would be insane. Yes I would say he's a better centre then Roberts, Fergo I'm not sure but Fergo, Dugan and Tedesco all need to be there for me.

IF he was playing FB this year I wouldn't drop him, but he isn't. He has to prove he is better than Roberts imo because Roberts had a great season for a shit team last year. he should get better this year.

He doesn't miss many tackles compared to other centres, in fact he compares quite favourably. Does he terrible reads? I've never noticed when watching him

:clap::clap::clap:

The game has moved to middle third v edge players in the forwards and the importance or right/left players is huge right now

playing a left edge player, be it a half, centre, second rower or wing on the right at rep footy is asking for trouble.

Unless you're JT, SBW, or someone of that ilk who can play either side and still be studs, you need to get specialist left and right side players now at wing, centre, second row and half.
This is the split halves era and the by product of that is for the most part players are playing extremely defined roles

Josh Morris has done it pretty well for NSW the last few years. But yeah, other than a select few who train in both positions, it's a left vs right game and most players are specialists on one side.

I could be wrong but I thought numbers 8, 10, 11 12 & 13 can play anywhere in the forwards.

You would be wrong. The skillset required for an edge backrower is very different to that required for a prop or lock.

Duges didn't look to convincing at centre and Mann even less so at FB from what I have heard. Mary might not persist with it.

How did Jack Bird go? Didn't watch the game but didn't have the worst stats. Could be good as a bolter.
