The top players (the hard men!) in the Australian RL team should be ashamed of themselves, choosing to hide away down under while the rest of the world gets on with its lives and fights against terrorism. Never did I think that the 2 words Aussie and coward would be put into the same sentence.

What colour are your jerseys - green and YELLOW.

Glynys - from London - with a family.

I hope the Kiwis do tour. It would be a huge embarrassment for the ARL.

That just about sums up the ignorance we are dealing with.

What a sad story, thats the story about you pack of ignorant shits. The only person I could associate the word Coward to is Osama Bin Laden.
Glynys obviously you don't have the feelings of a real family person, cause it sounds like you would leave them high and dry for a game. It does not matter how minute the possibility of any harmful acts, it is not worth leaving your family, which was the main concern for those players.
The only shame is those fellow Aussies putting down thier own.

Topaz, the reason they are being put down is becasue there is nothing to fear at all. The players have been fed propaganda bullshit and have belived it. How can there be a war when there is only one side attacking?

Soft cock Fittler never had his heart in touring and he managed to cancel the whole tour.

The players who didn't want to go should not have gone and should have finished their test careers there and then. The fact they managed to talk 7 of their team mates into not going also, they should be ashamed of themselves.

You can stop your silly comments about not having true family feeling. The most courageous thing you can do for your family is to let them go and carry on with life.

I let my 17 year old son go to Sri Lanka in December 1998 on a cricket tour with Kent Youth even though the Tamil had been bombing right near where they were staying. It was his choice and he (and all the boys, nobody pulled out) chose to go. How do you think I felt about that - especially on Christmas Day and New Year - we worried the whole time - but they came back safely, thank God. And they didn't let the Sri Lankans down.

Your Rugby Leaguers have let themselves, their nation and the British down.

What has an IQ of 144? - A gross of Dogs!

Since much of your economy is dependent on tourism, what will you do when the tourists stop coming?

In fact, you can look to a boost in toursism as people line in in milion to witness your contribution to the fight against terrorism- Kangaroos hiding under the bed!

More serios general point here. Is this just an excuse becuase of

1. The tour would be a walk-over

2. A political thing, wanting to take control of the whole game?

3. Some sort of behind-the-scenes power struggle?

A man amongst boys, you do realise that personal attacks in an argument get you nowhere.

Again, put yourself in a players shoes. I find it hard to believe any of them would leave a family who wants them to stay back just to play a few games.

And AMAB, you just stateda reason why we shouldn't go. The tour would be a walk-over, because in comparison to the rest of the world, Australia is 1 and the next side (NZ) is 20. GB comes in at 21.

I'll take one of Topaz's comments on board. 'The only shame here is Aussies putting their fellow Aussies down.'

Cheers

There's none so blind as those that will not see.

So whatever Aussies do you will support them? What was done to the Aborigines years ago is OK then - that's why you won't apologise?

Who in God's name do you think you are?
If you're not satisfied criticising our footy team your cticising citizens about the Aboriginals.

I can sternly say that

YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO COMMENT. FIRSTLY, THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU SAID. THE POINT YOU MADE REGARDS THE OTHER PERSONS PERSONAL THOUGHTS. DO YOU KNOW THEM? NO IS YOUR ANSWER. I THINK THE ABORIGINES SHOULD BE APOLOGISED TO. JOHN HOWARD IS THE RAVING LUNATIC WHO WON'T.

DON'T YOU DARE TELL ME HOW TO THINK.

OH, GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT TOO.

Goodbye
Tim (a proud Australian)

And before you start raving at me about me telling you how to talk, please take note that it is in reference to the fact that you aren't Australian and you have no idea about the situation with Aborigines.

Some of you do seem to be pretty sensitive about the selfishness of your players. This is not a personalattack on members of this forum. It is an attack on the actions of whoever really cancelled the tour. However, if you take it as personal and respond in that way, you will get an appropriate response. But words will have to be your weapon. Your unwillingness to travel precludes any other response ( and you ar all probably bigger than me, anuway!)

As for commenting on your country and its actions ot lack of actions, that is the freedom we all have and will continue to execute.

But you have to try to see it from a global perspective, not just a domestic perspective.

More or less the whole world is finally united against terrorism.
Agreed?

More or less the whole world is united in it determination not to let them win?
Agreed?

Millions of people are going about their daily lives, travelling locally, around Europe and across the world.
Agreed?

Thousands and thousands of people are involved in an active fight against this terrorism.
Agreed?

Australia is country that like all others, contributes to the global economy.
Agreed?

Australia is a country that like many others, is dependent on international trade, tourismand communications?
Agreed?

So you would expect those activites to carry on. Don't let the terrorists win eh?
Agreed?

But when it comes down to it, and your team is requited to discharge its obligations as leaders, then its suddenly all different

OK, Tim, I won't mention the Aboriginals again - knew I was out of order on that - but you should stop contradicting yourself. You agree with Topaz that Aussies shouldn't put down their fellow Aussies but you've just called John Howard a lunatic. I presume therefore that you are not an Aussie? BTW, John Howard represents your country.

What facts should I get straight - do tell me, then I will know?

When you get a little bit older and more mature, you will realise that it is OK to constructively criticise anyone, even your own countrymen, if you think they are wrong. If you don't ever get this point of view then you have been brainwashed and not taught to think for yourself.

Glynys, So it was your sons decision in the end and you excepted that, he went, you worried, nothing happened, I'm glad it all had a happy ending. There is no way in the world I would have let any of my children go, thats the difference between me and you, I have a strong attachment of love for what I created. We let the British down, more like we letthem off the embarassemnet of a 3 - 0 loss.

AMAB Don't let the terrorists win? Can you tell me with 100% certainty that they are thinking of a rugby league game right now. I think they would be more likely to be thinking of there next move, according to the FBI this morning they have concerning information, regarding attacks on the world by these lunatics, USA is on full alert and they recommend all people and countrys do the same thing.

I still don't think its worth it. Aussies will cop it on the chin and rise again like always.

I think everybody should have a beer, Cheers
