New stadium - 2025

Exactly like CommBank?
I'm pretty sure a poster last year assured me this wasn't the case!

I'm sure the pricing of the season tickets will offset the worse seats everyone in the western grandstand will get 😂

Such a letdown on what it could have been.

if thats the case, just seems copy & paste exercise in how Commbank stadium was built

I agree it appears that way. The eastern grandstand is NOT going to offer any type of sun protection for day games. Even in winter that sun can be pretty dreadful. I've had experience of getting sun stroke myself and being dreadfully ill.

That awing in the eastern grandstand needs to shade the whole of the grandstand and the concorse (which it obviously doesn't)

THE Mims govt (him being a big dogs supporter) didn't want to built it in the first place.

To me it looks like a total botch job. Even Leichhardt oval is being done over in orange and black.

To me it looks like a TEMU version of Com Bank at Parramatta. It should be a stadium for fans and members. Not the chardanary swilling corporates and the like. I am willing to bet there will be little accessible seating either.

PISS POOR.

The business case for the stadium was pathetic.

Any rebuild was always going to favour corporates.

Do the maths $300m at a reasonable 5% per annum is $15m.

Is the club going to pay over $1m a game to rent?

Any stadium in Penrith is only ever going to host the Panthers

There are no other professional teams who'll use it and you have to be pretty special to think it'd ever host any form of concert when venues located to closer to the monies part of Sydney exist

There is no public seating in the Western Stand despite all the promises made. It is all corporate except for the uncovered concourse.
You keep saying that but as far as I can tell without anything to back it up. In fact the publically available information says quite the opposite.

The idea of one entire side of a modern stadium having literally zero public seating just seems impossible to believe. I'd like to see some evidence of that as well.

Penrith Stadium project update - April 2025
This shows Level 1 Concourse, Level 2 Function rooms, Level 3 Suites/ Corporate Boxes, Level 4 Media.
It has the drawings that show no public areas.

The imaged I've attached says different.

As does the design report. Which states

Level 01 contains the primary concourses for both stands. They contain:

• Food and beverage and toilet facilities to serve the 5100+
premium GA or members seats in the lower west tier.

And this is actually an increase from an earlier deisgn report which stated there were only going to be 4600 seat on the lower west tier.

If you have a google account you can go to this link, I've uploaded a few of the development documents and you can use the chat functionality to question the documents.

Penrith Stadium Redevelopment

Or there are a lot of resources available here on the govt planning portal.

All of those 5100 seats are in the western concourse or “lower west tier”. This is the same as the lower level or bowl at Commbank or Accor which no one considers to be grandstand seating.
The actual western stand is all corporate function rooms, corporate suites and media. There are no member areas. Member and Premium GA are concourse. Only about half of the LWT (as the concourse is called) will be undercover.

My family and I have had season tickets at our former stadium for over 30 years.

Im confident we will get seats at the new stadium in the Western Stand based on what I have been led to believe.

Whether they are as good as we have had for many years now, half way line basically undercover unless the wind is blowing the rain from the east .

If our seats are t quite as good, I’ll suck it up for not having to queue up to have a piss or miss parts of the game trying to buy a beer.

It probably isn’t what we all wanted or dreamed of, but the facilities at our former stadium were diabolical.

im confident the new stadium will be a significant upgrade .

That's part of the charm of the old stadium. Ahh the smell of the urinal residing on the soles of my shoes in between sips of my Tooheys New.

It will be a huge improvement no doubt. At Commbank service is a breeze.

I'd also like some more drink options if they will allow it. Maybe sell some local craft options from breweries. Mountain Culture at a higher price would be nice.

I too have seats in the Western Stand for around 45 years. I am just very disappointed that what we were assured of isn’t going to happen. There is no way that the seats in the LWT could be any where as good as what we had. I agree that in general the stadium will be better than it was but feel sorry for long term supporters that will lose out.
The State Government should have at least indexed the initial $309 m which would have ensured the original plans could have been delivered instead of the reduced rebuild that is being done.

I’ve looked at the plans, I’m excited I think it’s far better than some are putting out there. I agree not what it could, or should have been, but a massive upgrade on what we had.
